If it were me and I didn't want to be around you, I wouldn't hint for more time together.
Also, dates tend to be small time allotments. "hanging out" is more relaxed and means more time together, doing "nothing" ie. Visiting/talking/getting to know each other.
Sounds like she enjoyed herself and wants to know more about you without your "game face" on and without either of you feeling obligated to pay for date-ish things. Very cool. Cook a meal together. Visit while preparing the meal. Then, talk more while enjoying the meal. Afterwards, head to the living room and watch a dvd together. After all the talking, it would be nice to just enjoy their company without the pressure of talking. Who knows? You might sneak a kiss or just a little hand-holding. Have fun!

When I say it, I mean it - it means I want to meet up again. Usually girls are afraid of making the first move, so this sort of leaves it up to the guy to say, "yeah, I'll call you/text you with plans" or something like that.
I would say not really romantic would like to hang out and see how well you are as friends and then see where it goes. Sometimes its best to hang out with someone and you get to see them better than if you were on a date.
It's pretty standard, but it's a general phrase that means she would like to see more of you in the future. If you had a semi-formal dinner date / evening out, maybe she'll just want to hang out and watch a movie at home for your next date.
