I was talking to a old female school friend and she asked if I remembered the times the female coach had to ask the male coach something or need something from him or the store rooms in the boys changing room.

I'm living in Finland, and this happens at my local pool, which is used by schools at the same time as public. Just today I was there, and one class was coming out and another going in. The class going in was about 10 boys, aged 6 or 7, and the coach (a youngish woman) brought them into the male changing room and supervised them getting changed and showered (showers are obligatory, and you're not allowed to wear swimwear in the showers). The group coming out was also about 10 boys, aged about 15, and they were showering and drying off at the same time. Nobody cared, or thought it odd. The teenagers all said Hi to her, but I don't know if they knew her or were just being polite.

I never understand the problem with it. It really isn't a big deal we all seen and know what nude/naked pepole look like.
It isn't sexual to be nude or naked with others be it friends and family or even a stranger.
As you said no one takes any notice.

I don't know what the general attitude in American schools in residential or urban environments these days, but my niece's and nephews don't see anything unusual or embarressing about changing and showering in view of adults of the opposite gender. The physical education and required, as well as elective, sports programs have a rotation schedule for faculty covering physical education and these other programs, and the boys don't complain about female gym instructor seeing them in the shower or locker areas, thought sometimes she has been asked not too stand too close when someone need too have a bowl movement, because their embarressed about my the odor, not the view. Attitudes are a lot different in some rural communities where utility and medical health are the primary motivations for determining appropriate dress, or lack of clothes. From my own experiences on the farm, I would rather be seen and touched, when necessary for hygiene and safety, than too have my clothes tell the tale of my day's exertions, via, aromatic underwear and armpit odor left on clothes. I feel a clean, naked body is nothing too be embarressed about, but B. O. taking hours too wash clean of clothing on a hot, muggy summer day, is beyond mortifying.

At my health club, there is a father if two young daughters who comes in early morning for serious resistance training using the free weights, and I've gotten into the routine of spotting him on the bench, and in turn, he is helping me transition from low weight, high repetition, too a more agressive set of heavy weights with minimal repetition and longer rest periods between sets. I accept the fact that he can't leave his 9, and 11 year old daughter's alone outside the facility, and management won't allow minors on the excercise floor without adult supervision for safety reasons. That being in said, we all change together in the locker area, and dry off together after showering in private stalls. As long as their parents is present, I don't have a problem with the girls seeing me nude, and they don't seem overly inhibited about their exposed bodies, but then again, niether of us stare at them, iether. One person did complain too management, and they tried too appease his anger by arranging a workout schedule with a 1 week personal training session with fitness coach, but he didn't bite, threatening too call the authorities. They stopped being polite, giving him one of three choices. 1.- come in later in the day when we are gone, two. - go too one of their other two locations, or 3. Refund his membership fee and give him 5 minutes too vacate premisses before they call police. I recognize that some people are not comfortable with juveniles of iether gender in a weight lifting facility, but even if I were way more inhibited about my body than I am, no amount of embarressement could compell me too create a situation that results in the images of two young girls ending up on milk cartons.

Sure, wasn't anything unusual about it, especially if she was subbing for the regular gym teacher, or was the regular gym teacher. I had a female coach my entire freshman year of high school. Hygiene was a priority, so if she asked you if you used soap and rinsed thoroughly, best you were honest in your response, because saying no, you didn't, was a little embarressing in front of all the guys while she lectured you on skin lesions and infections before sending you back under the spout too do a thorough scrub and rinse. She had an unobstructed view of the showers and toilets (no stalls or doors, all open) from her office, so just because she wasn't always standng there supervising us, doesn't mean she wasn't supervising us. I saw several guys get the treatment when caught lying too her.

I was a swimming instructor at summer camp and went into boys and girl changing room (but no the showers) all the time as there was no male teacher there. The oldest are about 12. No big deal where I'm from. But I heard there was a female instructor that use to watch the boys shower and told anyone who kept there trunks on to take them off. Thought that was a bit strange?
