Best Hugs Ever


There's something about a hug from a best friend of the opposite gender that is the best. It's just plain, normal affection and everyone could use some more of these in their life. But surely the hug of a best friend who is of the opposite gender is great.


I know it because Rachel and I were like best friends before becoming girlfriend-boyfriend.


Look through a Different Lens


Having a best friend of the opposite gender means you get to see life through a whole new set of perspectives and we learn to understand and appreciate them.We all secretly believe we know what the opposite sex is thinking, but guess what? We don't.


I know that because Rachel told me about it. Almost everything I believed was wrong and the same is true for her. So having a best friend of the opposite gender makes you realize that you don't know what the opposite gender is thinking. That helps you avoid doing mistakes in front of them.

When you go with your best friend who is a girl you try to learn new things and you do not feel the need to call non-typically masculine events (shopping for example) “girly” or “gay,”.
Therefore an opposite-gender best friend is a gateway into a new world of thinking.

If you are going on a date you would want a girl or a guy to help her out.
After all you would want a girl telling you what other girls want because she would likely know
best — or could at least say what she would like best. Thus having a best friend of the opposite sex is sort of

Of course if you are a girl's best friend you would understand her and she would understand you. When you do something together like shopping you get to understand each other better. This helps in dating. Many of them marry and there are less arguments in such couples as they already know each other very nicely. This helps to start a family.

Everybody thinks you are a couple.


Everybody thinks you two are a couple. Some might tease you and it could affect your friendship as one of you might not approve of it. It could lead to misunderstandings. The other person might think you are spreading rumors that you are his/her girlfriend/boyfriend.


Shopping or fashion problem


Girls like to spend a lot of time doing shopping. They love it. Guys don't love it that much.
Even though they are best friends and they go to shopping together it is a chance that a guy might get bored and lose his patience. The girl will not like that at all and then their friendship is surely to be affected by it.


The guy's friends/the girl's friends.


The girl or the guy's friends might ask the girl/guy to talk to the guy/girl about them and how they feel about them. They could ask you to set him/her with them. If they are really flirty with the guy/girl your friendship will get affected as you will think that what vulgar friends your best friend has they might not approve of it.


Parent Problems


Your parents will ask you about him/her. You could tell your mom she’s your girlfriend so that you could stop having this conversation but she too could tell her dad you’re her boyfriend and you will have to have this conversation with her dad. So the besties could have to talk to the other's parents.
If you are bad in communicating with them they will think you are not good. If you decline your friend might get hurt. So you have to accept it only.

Roommates


If you are roommates it could be awesome living with him/her but sometimes there are some things which often start fights with your roommate. Like if you go to the bathroom and you find broken hair lying in the sink or on the floor it is really irritating. Same is the case with boys if you find their undergarments lying here and there or if they get too close to your undergarments it really makes a girl angry.
