Is my boyfriend ignoring me because he's jealous?

So I'm in my last year of high school and we've been dating for 2 months: at first we were really close together and I thought he was the perfect guy for me and he let me know I was the perfect girl for him. A month later we had a two-week half term break and he texted me quite often because we didn't see each other and we saw each other once (he asked me on a date) and the second time (I asked him on a date wanting to surprise him). Now its been 2 and a half weeks since school started and the first week I felt he was quite distant, he didn't text me so I asked him if anything was wrong and he told me he had insomnia so I talked to him about him and I gave him a cd with music that we both like and he seemed kinda happy about it, but kept on being more and more distant. So last Thursday I told him that I felt the Relationship wasn't evolving as it should have done and that maybe we ought to think again about our feelings for each other. He seemed quite confused but still kissed me for a day but the next day he barely talked to me even though he sat next to me at lunch. Saturday we had school and he was sitting in front of me in class and texted me "hey are we going to ignore each other much longer?" to which I replied "i don't want to ignore you on purpose but its not like we've been talking more during the last 2 weeks". Monday he sat next to me in class and we started talking and smiling and even flirting just like the 1rst month and a half of the Relationship so he told me he wanted to talk to me about our Relationship. He told me he had also felt something strange during the last two weeks but didn't know what had happened so we agreed on going on "as normal". But yesterday he just said "hi" and "goodbye" to me (pretty much) and today I ddidn't come to school because I was sick and he didn't text me (as he usually does when I'm sick). I'm not feeling very well and I'm actually starting to Wonder whether I should break up with him or not? I have a guy friend whos really nice but I don't LOVE him and I try to give my boyfriend space by letting him hang out with his friends and I hang out with mine and go to parties and everything... Is he ignoring me because he's jealous? and if yes what should I do about it?

i don't think it's jealousy at all. I'm not sure if it's him ignoring you as much as perhaps he just doesn't feel that strongly regarding teh relationsip. frankly I haven't heard much in your description of the scenario to make me conclude anything other than the feelings either on his or both parts isnt' that strong that you two feel that almost irrepressable urge to be together.

I think perhaps after the initial feelings and flirtations perhaps, as you said, the relationships lack of evolution has just led to a less than intimate relationship...and I would imagine a good reason for that could that you two simply aren't all that into each other

hey thanks for the answer :) I don't know because last weekend when we were "ignoring" each other he looked kinda sad and I did feel bad for him... Should I make the next step? or should I just break up?

it seems to me that there is a level of intimacy lacking in your relationship that to me stems from not having especially strong feelings for each other. The fact that you would have to see if you could get together with him suggests that there is a lack of desire to just be with each other rather than having to make unique plans to meet up... question: if he broke up with you tomorrow how would you feel? how long do you think it would take before you could date someone new?

I think you bringing the guy friend in the story kind of makes me think there is much to it. As for me I don't believe in guys/girls having opposite sex friends. There are rare occasions, but if spending a lot of time alone with this guy friend then him being so distant could explain. I can only tell from the small amount of detail.

I think to fix this it would to tell him directly.

He could also be very busy with school and all.

Well right now your wondering why his being so distant. All I can say is you should just tell him straight forward. Don't beat around the bush or you won't get anywhere.

Well if communicating him to get him to talk about what's up isn't working on improving the distance, than yes.
