Now, growing up in a family of all boys where we all eat quite a bit of food (i probably eat well over 3000 calories a day on average, probably more now since I've been trying to bulk), I understand that my perception of what constitutes "a lot" of food may be skewed, but from what i've seen (especially at dinner at my house last night), my girlfriend literally eats an amount equivalent to about 10 to 20% of my average dinner. That is NOT an exaggeration; if anything, thats a high estimate.
There have also been several occasions where we hang out and she's like "oh haha i forgot to eat today", and it would be like 3pm. Growing up, my parents were always super super strict about my brothers and i eating on a normal schedule, so the fact that my girlfriend randomly skips/"forgets" to eat meals on a regular basis shocks me and I'm worried. When my mom heard that from her, she was also really surprised and called her out on it.
Girls, is this type of behavior normal? For reference, she's about 5ft 3in, 115 pounds, so she's pretty small, but i know plenty of girls her size or even smaller that at least double her daily caloric intake. I'm just trying to make sure that she doesn't have an eating disorder or anything, since a person who regularly skips meals each day and eats the equivalent of a bag of chips' worth of calories per meal does not seem "normal" in my mind. Thanks!
