What does physical contact mean to a guy?

So what exactly does physical contact with a girl mean for a guy? I don't mean anything sexual, but stuff like brushing past her, moving your leg so it touches her, getting really close to whisper things to her, putting your arm around her, stuff like that. Would guys do it with all their female friends or just with the girl they like?

If a guy likes you he'll test the water so to speak and only try to touch you (not in a sleazy way, just your arm or something like that) when you've, to him, given enough signs that your interested.

If a guy has been friends with a girl for a LONG time, then touching and whispering is pretty normal in appropriate amounts. But if it's with a girl who he's just gotten to know recently, than it's a safe bet that he's interested in her.

Depending on how the physical contact is delivered it can easily be interpreted as a sign he's interested. I don't know how aware of the fact he is, that when it comes to physical contact, women notice it all.
