When you're sick, how do you like to be treated?

When I'm sick, I want to be left alone, period. It seems many women just can't bring themselves to do that, and would rather get their head bitten off for bringing me soup or fixing my blankets than just go away and go shopping or something. Oh the other hand, when my brother is sick he wants a 24-hour on-demand nurse, and is so demanding that he'll run through the patience of even the most loving nurse. I expect we're two extremes on the scale. Where do you fit?

Leave me alone! I'll let you know when I'm ready to deal with other people again.

Go on about your business, but be around in case I need something.

Pay attention to me - fluff my pillow, bring me soup, ask if there's anything you can do for me.

Be on-call 24 hours and don't pay attention to anything other than me.

Depends on the kind of sick I am and who's around to be nurse. From most people, I can't take comfort or pity without getting really, really annoyed. My mother, as good as her intentions are, can drive me distracted in about two minutes when I have the flu, same with most other people. If I'm the kind of sick where I'm in pain, everyone just leave me alone PLEASE! There are two exceptions to this rule: my best girl friend and my boyfriend- they can rub my back or curl up in bed with me or bring me tea if they want while I'm sick. I don't need constant pampering, but it does make me feel good when they take care of me. And in general, if I'm sick, I do like people to care a little and I would be offended if everyone just completely ignored me and never asked how I was. Basically, if I'm sick and you're not one of my exceptions, pop your head in once in awhile, offer me food and water, and for the rest of the time let me rest on my own until I feel better.

As a side note about people wanting to take care of you when you're sick- I honestly have the hardest time not hovering when my brother or boyfriend is sick. I try not to bug them, but I love them and I've been caring for my brother since we were little and my boyfriend since we started going out. Easier to get yelled at than deal with the guilt that you're neglecting them somehow lol.

i don't need much more attention then any other time. the only difference is I like to be asked how I'm doing, for them to recognize that I'm not feeling well, and to not ask me to do things they normally would. but I don't need a maid, I'm quite capable on my own. I do enjoy company though =)

I'm kinda demanding and whiny when I'm sick. I like attention and I want someone to be there for me at all hours too get me food, books, movies, whatever I'm in the mood for.

I honestly don't care either way lol. I just EXPECT no one to give me a hard time with things when I'm sick. One example was my friend asking me to drive him to some concert and I went from normal to gritted teeth p*ssed and said, "*quiet cool voice* I am very sick right now and I would prefer not too." He asks again, "*angry mega p*ssed voice*I'M FUCKING SICK OK. I DON'T FEEL LIKE GETTING OUT IN THE SUN AND DEALING WITH THIS BULLSHIT. GET YOUR OWN DAMN RIDE AND STOP MOOCHING OFF ME*hang up*". Pretty much I just don't want to have to do anything when I'm sick. I don't want to do house work, I don't want to do regular work, and I damn sure not in the mood for favors. However I usually apologize for anything I might say when I am sick.

when I'm sick I like to be not annoyed... I love being around my girlfriend and she always makes me feel better by just being around, but if she was like trying to help too much it would be an annoyance.

I like to curl up on the couch wrapped up in my blanket, watch movies, do as much as I can for myself but if the room begins to spin to much then maybe have my husband or my mom help me out, if they are near me I also like to lay in there lap.

I don't like humans in general dealing with them is draining me up.. all around me say am fun and easygoing true friend and all but really I love you will do everything for 4 - just when u need me to-as for me please leave me alone especially when am sick cuz just leave me.

I prefer to be alone. I tend to feel miserable and I wouldn't want to get my partner sick anyway. If I need anything I can do it myself.
