I use emojis a lot as it can clarify some language. Im very sarcastic so I clarify Im joking with :p What I say might be a little harsh sounding so I use :) or :D

I use emojis to clarify things, for instance ":P" for sarcasm or teasing. I do it more so when I'm messaging a girl, and even more if I'm interested. Level of interest also affects the types of emojis I use. For example, I generally never just send a standard ":)" unless I'm at least somewhat interested in a girl.

I use emojis in chat in about every second sentence regardless of whom I am talking to
It depends on the guy. A lot of times, I won't use emojis unless the girl I am texting uses them. If that's the case, then usually I'm just being friendly. There are times where guys, myself included, will use emojis to flirt.
Some times I use them after I flirt with text like I say that she is pretty and a blush face. I don't normally use emoticons unless I want to make sure she knows the context of what I tell her.
