He sent me a shirtless selfie already?

The two of us have known each other for years, but we were never close until this year. He recently got Snapchat. Forward a week after creating his account, I send out my streaks picture, midday, and he replies with a snap back immediately. No caption. He's smirking in the picture. We go back and forth a little bit and in all the pictures, he's smirking. I kind of think he was trying to look good for me? Eventually I tell him about something funny that happened in my day. Since I sent that message too late, I didn't get a reply back until the next day.
He sends back a shirtless picture, a little below the collarbones and up. Captioned, "That's hilarious." I was a little put off- he had a big smile in the picture, and not his typical, seductive smirk.
It was a story about shopping. It wasn't that funny, either. Why would he care?
He sent a shirtless picture on our second day of snapchat communication. I've come to two conclusions. A) He likes me. B) His reproductive organs like me.
He doesn't have a "reputation," but I know he's sent shirtless pics to his very close family (girl) friend. To be fair, he used to like her, but the pictures were more recent. Then again, when we saw each other the following day in class, he showed signs of being interested in me.

We're going to the same college (what are the chances) and we are majoring in the same field (oh the irony) and I really want to know what's going on because there's no doubt in my mind that we'll have some courses together.
