I'm 22 and I don't really waste my time with ab exercises unless I'm using other parts of my body. You would be surprised how often you're engaging your abs when doing other exercises! Especially with free weights. But I guess my favorites would be the standing cable wood chop and planks.

You're a trooper, I hate crunches and saw little results. Where I saw most results was anything with a stability ball and walking planks. Ab machines at the gym are shit. Running really helps too. I'm 20.
There's about 20-30 different things I do to work my core. I usually hit a different legs and core routine twice a week to keep it nice and mixed up.
I also do MMA training once or twice a week. It's a good core workout since most of your strikes come from your core.
This is my Abs routine.
It says you should follow 3 days/week but due to my studies and time limit I do it once a week :)

Hey I'm 18 and I usually do cardio ab workouts, eg mountain climbers, lunges swinging dumbbell diagonally standing ab crunches push-ups touch opposite shoulder
However I do boxing which really helps abs and mixed martial arts :)
Hope I helpedStandard crunch, oblique crunch both side, elbow to knee crunch, superman crunch, hip rock crunch, in/out crunch, full body crunch, leg lifts, and bicycles. I'm still pretty newbish, so I do 1 set 15 reps apiece to make 150 movements.
I don't really remember how many but I don't just do your back on floor ab workouts, sometimes some standing up, others sitting down and planks. So it's like more than 8 I guess.
