Did/Do you have acne as a teenager, and did you get rid of it?
Do you still have acne?
Were you able to get rid of it while you were a teenager, or after? Or did it just go away on its own after the teenage years?
Any explanations would be great!
I LUCKILY never broke out like my sister & brother who did. I was lucky enough to get blemishes here & there and wasn't often. I noticed that it was mostly on our diet. My aunts, uncles & cousins from my mom's side had bad luck of having acne too. My siblings never took meds or seen a specialist they cleared it with home remedies & store bought products. They basically tested out what best fit them, my sister was better fit with home remedies like oatmeal, honey & baking soda & water. My brother had to use Mary Kay Acne cream with cetaphil cream & we all use honey with lemon once or twice a week to removed marks and dark spots on our face and/or body. I also tell them to use a natural exfoliator that I make & use, either sugar (any kind) or salt with olive oil & honey if you want, you mix it and rub it on your face/body and rub away, then pat dry. I prefer homemade remedies than store bought products but it depends on the severity of your condition really. I hope I helped and hope you find a solution that best fits you :) Good luck. :D
I had very persistent acne for many years, until I went to the doctors about something unrelated, whilst I was there she offered to give me this greasy liquid for my acne, which since it was so greasy I NEVER thought would work, but it did! Within about 3 weeks I was virtually acne free, which seemed a miracle! It was called 'Zineryt' :3 I intend to always have a bottle for emergencies xD
I've had acne since I was 15, and now 25. It's not nearly as bad as it once was, but it's still there. Went through every tropical ointment treatment, accutane, antibiotics, and then cleanser as well that you can think of. Accutane seemed to work the best, but it really took repetition, and discipline to finally get rid of it. Washing my sheets 3 times a week, taking a shower twice a day, using acne lotion during the day, trentenoin at night, fish oil and vitamins, working out, eating healthy, and trying to not stress too often about it. All of those combined, has ended up working quite well for myself.
I had TERRIBLE acne and even scarring and dark spots. Searched for 8 years on the best products to use, I've done everything, Green Tea mixtures, Proactiv, AcneFree, Acutane, even concentrated BP solution.
This, THIS, combination, is by FAR the best thing I've EVER used.

I am 19 and still struggle with it. I have tried pretty much every product from the drug stores, but I haven't had anything that took away the entire problem. It wasn't bad until freshman year, went away sophomore- junior year. But, at the end of senior year I started to get the cystic ones! It was so painful, but I was able to come up with a skin routine for it with out taking prescriptions for it. Now, I am so stressed so with that I do tend to break out. But with trial and error, I was also to figure out what causes my break outs. Between stress, sugary foods, greasy foods and chocolate!!
I had acne very rarely during my younger days. Just maybe a tiny pimple when my periods were close by.
But I started to break out like crazy when I turned 23-years-old. Never tried. Tried all sorta creams, face washes, etc. Nothing really works. Am trying a herbal product now. Well it doesn't completely cure forever, but at least it reduces the redness/hardness of the pimple.
i had it. when i was 19 i found out that i had sensitive skin and started religiously using a skincare line made for sensitive skin.
AVOID ETHANOL AKA ALCOHOL DENAT.
I had a little acne as a teenager, but some pimples were really troublesome. Normally, I just squeezed them until they popped. Mostly I was successful in getting my pimples to pop harmlessly outwards, but a couple popped inwards, one of them even needing a bandage.
I had a little mild case of acne. I stopped drinking side for a month and it did wonderS for my skin. Also I stopped with fast food restaurants like McDonald's, Burger king etc. Anything with a drive through I don't do. Except the milkshakes from chick fil a of course. And I just wash my face with antibacterial body wash.
yes, really bad. my cheeks were all red. I got rid of it by taking facials with some expensive products. and doing facials alone at home after that, once a week. I used tea tree oil. I also washed my face like 4 or 5 times a day to get rid of the oils. my face is very oily and where I lived as a teen, it was hot and humid and the air was polluted, so my pores got clogged up really easily. I think it's the washing face that really did the trick.
Yeah, I got it really bad when I was about 13 and after trying tons of different creams (proactive, Neutrogena, Clearasil, etc) I finally went to the dermatologist at the age of 16. My doctor gave me a prescription topical cream along with a moisturizer and it ended up going away after about a year. I still breakout occasionally if I don't manage stress and use moisturizer but my skin is basically clear.
currently 21 and still have acne.
for the past four years I've been on mild antibiotics (Amoxicillin) and I use a topical gel (Differin) after I wash my face. I also use toner and a face moisturizer.
It has gotten better with maybe a bad flare-up every few weeks.
yeah, i had acne from when i was 11-15 really bad. i only get a few pimples every now and then, like when im pmsing or stressed out. i just drink a lot of water now and try to reduce my stress. i used to get really bad cystic acne on my chin and neck. it was awful
Ugh, I did have a little, but it either went away by itself
or due to not spending that long in the shower.
(did you know showering for more than 5min
and using too hot water is really bad for your skin?)
I always had great skin but I started to break out a bit in college (poor sleeping/eating). I've been using Proactiv for the last few years and my skin is completely clear. It doesn't work for everyone but it worked for me.
i never had acne. now that i'm adult i sometimes have like 1-2 pimples if i sleep late and if i'm worrying too much of something. i also notice that a week before my period my face gets unusually oily.
I had slight acne in my early teen years. Just be sure to thoroughly clean your skin and face and any other parts of your body that secrete a lot of oil or toxins, as these areas are most likely to produce acne.
I don't get zits often, but when i do.. I drink dos equis.
Nah, I don't get them often but when I do I wait until they're ready to pop then pop it with two cotton swabs. They heal pretty quick when I do it that way and it doesn't get infected.
I don't have acne on the face but I have chestne...
Had it when I was 17 - went away on it's own when I was 21/22... I think...
I have acne since I was 13. I'm still trying to get rid of it, but fortunately my face is getting better. I guess I just need 1 or 2 years until it disappear.
I had acne as a teenager. I had to see a dermatologist to get prescription ointment and pills. I'm almost 30 and it's not quite as bad as it was only a year ago.
I never once had acne as a teen. Now I'm 19 and I still don't have any.
I'm free of breakouts!! :-)
Yes I had acne and yes it cleared up on it's own after teen years. Only thing I did was that I washed my face with a special facial wash every day and used a facial cream as I still do.
