Two people of the same height. No two people are alike, so one person is going to have a wider pelvis, bigger ribcage, thicker bones. Relatively the other person has the smaller frame.
Being skinny is more your body tissue composition - how much of your weight is cuz of this type of tissue. E. g. if you have 20% body fat then 20% of your weight is fat. Could also be in terms of how much muscle you have too. Usually though when people talk about skinny it's about fat percentage, so if you are skinny you have low fat percentage.
Thus if the person with smaller bone structure has 30% body fat, and the person with the bigger bone structure has 25% body fat, the person with the bigger bone structure is skinnier.
Skinny is sounds really negative though... like a starved skeleton... lean is a better word imao

the word 'skinny' now seems to denote someone with a health disorder tbh. to me anyway. the way people use it. thin is more just slender.
however thin can be used to mean skinny too. 'omg she looks so thin!'
but yeah i mean the ACTUAL definitions are very similar. it's the meaning we add to these words that keeps changing.

Yes I think it is. When they have a thin body frame I can see their bones and they look fragile.
But when they're just skinny, they look different and not fragile.

I see skinny as more on the "need to gain weight" side, I guess.
I think the word thin would reference someone that is underweight and fragile looking. Skinny is someone that is small framed but healthy looking. I myself would be worried if someone called me thin. I personally never use descriptive words that basic, I would rather tell someone that they look fantastic, healthy, petite, etc. There are so many more flattering words in our vocabulary that can get the same point across.
Kinda, thin is something I'd probably say for a super tiny girl. Skinny is more broad to me
There's definitely a difference. Thin is only slightly below a body type that is healthy, yet skinny is much lower.
Skinny is more towards aneroxiy, thin is just slightly less body fat than average
Skinny is when you are too thin in my book.
