I'll give you some basics now but EVERYTHING is covered in that guide it's long but very good, You are going to want to have a 500 calorie deficit from your maintenance calories (can be calculated by reading the guide) you are going to want to eat lots of protein to hold onto muscle but lose fat so that your bf% goes down. keep carbs fairly low-ish and make sure you eat lots of lean meats like chicken, beef also pretty much all vegetables and brown rice, wholemeal pasts etc. Also if you want to lose weight you should also lift weight for best results 3 cardio sessions and 3 weightlifting sessions a week would be very good for you. Finally don't rush to lose weight 1-2lb per week is healthy don't be dismayed it is slow and if you do it much faster it could be unhealthy especially for a young person.

I'm by no means a fitness expert, but foods that really helped me lose weight were baked potatoes (plain), boneless, skinless chicken breast, and broccoli. I tried to have at least one of those during one meal every day.

The best 'tip' I can give you is to eat the right food before you feel starving. Its when you don't eat, get really hungry that you make bad decisions.
