Oo, my father is in the same boat and still suffering problems from it too. I'm not aware of anything off the top of my head but I know for a fact that there are foods you can eat and other means of controlling your thyroid problem without resorting to medication. I'd either webmd it for just do some research on the web looking for what means you want/feel comfortable with controlling it. To get your weight under control your obviously going to need to eat right and do physical activity/work out and the like but with your thyroid problem food is going to be even bigger of a concern so you really need to emphasis the eating aspect of it along with a routine workout, no splurging. I recommend muscle and fitness or another magazine that has very low fat/healthy foods and ideas of what to make for meals etc. This in summary should help you get the body and self esteem your looking for for the ladies.

they actually diagnosed me with that a few years back, bi-monthly blood tests etc, told me if I didn't take the meds my thyroid could swell and I could die blah blah, gave me pills.
also said it could cause ADD like symptoms.
well I took the pills for a bit, and they said my levels were normal, then I slowly stopped taking em (forgetting or just not having enough time in my rush to work).
they also said it made it so I'd grow slower then yer avg person... well I'm 21, 6'1 or so, 155 lbs, and I'm lean, so the docs can bite me.
i'm not saying quit the pills, as it may be risky, I'm just saying pay attention to what the docs tell ya. if yer really concerned about loseing weight then put some effort into working out / etc. just because its hard don't mean you should quit.
Do what you can to be as healthy as you can be but also give girls a chance to give you a chance. 😊 Look at the array of ladies here who say they like a dad-bod look 👍
Iโve started talking to a guy with hypothyroidism and a few extra pounds but heโs a really fantastic person (so far!) and his appearance is a non-issue to me, at this point, because of his sweet generous personality and intelligence.. not to mention his incredibly broad variety of interests... and his cute smile..! 😁 You probably get the picture haha
I have a disorder that screws up my insulin which puts me in a similar situation as you. It sucks, but talk to your doctor about it. There may be medications or certain diets that you can follow to make it easier to lose weight. Good luck :)

I have hypothyroidism. It runs in my family.
You take your pills, that's about it. On a rather small dose of levothyroxine I can now lose and gain weight as suits my need, just like a healthy individual. If you find you're still gaining weight, maybe your just EATING TOO MUCH.
haha just kidding
Good luck!Eat less and exercise more. It may be harder for you to lose the weight, but it's not impossible.
I have the same thing man. Plus I am on anti-seizure meds which don't help at all.
