When will they find a cure for Migraines?

I see in search, there are many girls and

some guys with this torture. How do you manage to have a good life with bfs and gfs?

Doctor says I will have them most of my life.

I don't even really try to find a girlfriend any more.

I end up staying away from everyone.

Pain killers are totally useless.

Prescription Imitrex and Maxalt do help somewhat.

Yes those moving-rainbow light shows in my eyes, are cool,

but when the pain of up to two

days comes, kind of gives me brain damage!

Anyone know of any cure yet?

Most of my triggers are the good things in life.

Bright lights,loud sounds,heat,alcohol,dark chocolate,stress,too much sleep,too much exercise, too much sex. Yeah, last one's a bummer.

I get migraines too. Have been getting them for 30 years or so--since I was a little kid. My dad gets them and from what I've read, they tend to be hereditary. Mind are also aggravated by the numerous injuries I've had to my neck. Sounds like you know your triggers, but Excedrin is a good treatment for me. I take one every morning with breakfast and I don't get the barfing, marathon migraines I was getting two years ago.

Have you had your eyes checked? Chiropractic care---though massages are better. Try low impact exercise that doesn't get your heart-rate up too high. That's what keeps the blood pooled in your head which is why you're getting a headache in the first place. AND when you get one and have to lie down, lay in a recliner chair or proped up on a few pillows in bed so the blood doesn't stay pooled in your head, causing the throbing.

Hope this helps. I feel for ya, buddy. I know the pain that these headaches bring.

Have you tried Topamax (Topirmate)? I don't have them quite at bad you do, but it works for me.

I used to have them but they went away as I got older. My Girlfriend also claims to get them, but she is functional when she has them, I never was.

They may be food allergy related. Go find a Dr that knows about this. You test it by cutting out virtually everything from your diet, then add things in one at a time to see if you then get a migraine. She found out that something in sour cream was a trigger, and a few other things. If she is carefull, she doesn't get them any more!

Give it a try.

I just go Zombie and puke a lot.

I did have the allergy test on my arm for around 20 allergens. About 1/3 came up as allergic bumps.

I don't get migraines from any of them. I can take dairy products, no problem.

Thanks for making me think of them.

Just ticks me off they can't find a cure.

Heres what the drug leaflet says: Migraines are BELIEVED to be caused by widening of the blood vessels in the head. All they know is, by drugging the brain into a semi stroke condition, pain will be relieved.

marijuana is the answer. Is it legal in your state for medical purposes? Get a card. I have because of chronic back pains from heavy lifting at work.

They do have stores up here in Canada with medical Mary Jane.

Doctor said a person will definitely feel better for awhile, then brain will start to shrink.

I passed on it for now.

Hah brain cells don't shrink. They even did a study in lab rats THC killed giloma cancer cells while leaving heavy brain cells in tact. No brain damage from marijuana.

I think they have some good drugs out there to help with the pain. I hope things get better.
