If you know these guys like you and would really like to have a date, by all means ask THEM out!
A lot of guys become even more nervous then girls when brushing upon the subject of romantic interest or "making a move". My opinion would be to just ask one of them out. Also many guys feel especially at your age that they must go out of their way to impress girls rather then flat out show interest I.E asking for a date. In other words guys are given so many conflicting messages on what's proper protocol to be seen as "desirable" to girls. Showing direct interest can be seen as vulnerable and needy. It puts him in the position to be rejected out right and in some cases, to lose face.
Now sometime or another he should "bite the bullet" and make a move, but its hard for many guys, even the so-called "jocks". Unless your intent is just to be a tease, I would make a move yourself if your really interested in pursuing something. You have nothing to lose if you know they'd be up to it and are obvious about their feelings!
Maybe they're intimidated by you. I know that at your age I probably would have been. I've always been a shy type tho. They're definitely nuts tho for not at least giving you a chance.
They are just getting nervous guys get more nervous than you do when talking to them you just have to give them time

. touchdown? seems like jocks want you? I think the biggest turn off a dude can say to a girl is bring up sports let alone his sports performance. then on top of that Cliche Football Jock. come on. You don't want that.
Subtlety is your friend. Chill on the eagerness. Consume less sugar.
