So I dated one guy for a little while, but decided to break it off cause we just weren't on the same page. I enjoyed being in a relationship for the most part except I really don't like opening up to people. I don't like questions that are too personal. I think I am just afraid to open up to someone because if they leave it really hurts, so I don't want to become too attached too soon. How can I allow myself to open up to guys? Because most guys don't have enough patience to wait for me to sort my crap out before they ditch me. And I really do want to be in a relationship, just with someone I can trust and have fun with.

Start slow. Get to know them on the friend level and decide whether or not you can trust them in the long term after knowing what type of person they are. If you rush things and catch a lot of feelings really quick, you'll end up hurt
well how did you learn to drive a bike without falling? by going slow, falling a lot and learning how not to fall over time.
"Because most guys don't have enough patience to wait for me to sort my crap out before they ditch me." i don't think that's the reason. i think they just realize that you're not a good fit for them.
