Do you drink enough water?

I don't. I had to go to the emergency room on Friday. I had a rapid heart beat and shortness of breath. The thing that brought me back to normal was an I.v. of saline. Other things can happen to you too. Be careful.

I've read that liquids with caffiene, alcohol and sugar don't count because they deplete your bodies store of water

Actually - I haven't had one cup of water for the past 5 or so days.

I don't drink juice / soda a lot - just tea which has a fair amount of water in it - so maybe that's why I'm not dying of thirst lol

I need to drink way more though - the docs took my blood pressure a few weeks ago and they were like, you are really dehydrated.

Thing is - I never feel dehydrated. Even after days without water I feel pretty hydrated and healthy.

OMG! I suffer from shortness of breath and rapid heart beats for a while now. I don't drink enough water. Maybe two cups a day. I've thought that the heart beats are due to weight gain (but I'm not obese) or eating too much on a certain day.

I didn't know either til Friday. That was scary! A whole lot of weird stuff can happen. It felt like anxiety attack, except it lasted 6 hours instead of a minute or two.

yes baby they are called diuretics..they amke ypu pee MROE..so yes you wind up peeing even mroe of your body's water supply..they have a pill called Diurex for girls when theyr on their period and bloating..makes yu feel skinnier since you don't retain water due to hormones

alot of people THINK they drink a lot of water..they dont..you should drink half your bodyweighth in oucnes..so if you weighth 200..drink 100ounces of water..i drink enough for my bodyweighth..and eys I pee alot..so if you don't pee alot..then your not driking enough

No not at all...I'm always dehydrated but I'm never thirsty either so it's a hard habit to break out of.:/

technically what you are supposed to do to find out how much water you need a day is you take your weight in pounds and divide it by 2 then change pounds to ounces and that's how much you need daily [ e.g. 120 lbs/2=60lbs=60oz of water]. also water in decaffeinated tea counts as well as milk (milk is almost 87% water!).

That could be true. You're cells have a certain concentration of water in them and if you have a diluted source of water, it is said to have a lower concentration of water than a pure water. If the concentration of water is lower outside your cells, water will leave your cells (due to a concentration gradient). Thus, shrinking your cells and making you dehydrated...in physiological terms...

I drink above and beyond the recommended amount of water simply because water is generally the only liquid I'll drink aside from teas & I workout pretty hard and if I didn't I'd probably die.
