Anything else I can do to get lean legs?
Also, what type of running should I be doing? Distance, intervals, should I avoid uphill running?

Like everyone else has said, long distance running is the best way to become lean. You also might want to try swimming, but that might bulk up your arms/shoulders if you do it a lot.
long distance running will lean you out.. also the foods you eat have a lot to do with it..
don't do sprinting or uphill running, that will only bulk you up more.

eat less meat and more fruits and vegetables.. egg whites, avoid the yellow part of the egg, and drink lots of water
Run long distances and eat grass. Its too bad you hate your best asset.

I'm the same way girl! I am not overweight, but I have really muscular legs because I play soccer... I am so self conscious about them.. I feel like they are manly looking
I know just what you mean! My calves especially are so wide they don't look cute in shorts etc. It's annoying how guys on here say how hot thick legs are but IRL I'm not seeing it.
You're going to have to cut calories and run, focusing more on cardio.
I would still do SOME strength training such as with pilates or yoga.
