Do p90x the original series. I did it like 2 years ago. I was not overweight but I got in very ripped shape its a 90 day program and if you like results you can keep doing it. I love it because it only takes up an hour a day, and it costs about 120 bucks. no personal trainers, don't have to worry about people staring at you, and you can pause the video when you are out of breath or need breaks.
but honest to goodness it really works just see reviews on amazon or see b4 and after photos of people who went from like 300 lbs to like 140...many cases of that.
tony horton who is the guy in the video makes working out fun and he's even kind of funny. it will get you to eat right too. there's a nutritional plan too. it will not only make you lose weight, but will boost your mood, self esteem, and sex drive and you will naturally want to eat healthier when you begin working out.
the first week is probably the hardest but after a week or two when you see results you will want to keep going nonstop and making working out a lifestyle and guys will want to hit on you. most people feed their pain with food, drugs, or alcohol. or there's working out. if you have emotional problems that are making you eat more and put on wait perhaps see a therapist too or join some clubs and meet new friends who are imperative for self esteem.
good luck.

If you haven't worked out in a long time, you need to start out slow. You don't want to over train and increase the chances of hurting yourself or becoming discouraged. A healthy diet is a good start, but you can even walk in your neighbor hood and eventually start to jog to increase your heart rate to a level that will help to burn fat, probably about 60-70% of your max heart rate. Most people don't feel like going to the gym and use it as an excuse to not work out. But like some others have already written, you can still work out outside of a gym. As far as the jumping, is it a knee issue? If so there are exercises that you can do that are not stress full for a knee and will increase your heart rate. An upper body type ergometer, for example, will not stress the knee joint but will increase your heart rate to give an aerobic workout. There is so much more that I could write on this matter, but I know that your biggest barrier against getting in shape is you.
Diet is the large portion of weight loss. So maybe loose more to where you're more comfortable to go to the gym? Or stop making excuses and go out there of that's what you want right now.

You're not losing weight because you make too many excuses.
You stopped going to the gym because the trainers aren't friendly and people look at you the wrong way? What does any of that have to do with getting your ass in shape? Do you expect everyone to treat you with unconditional love after what you've allowed yourself to become? Forget about that. You're down because you let yourself down, not because of them.
You can't work out because you live an apartment? You can go outside right? You're not trapped right? Oh but the dogs! The dogs are scary! They are so scary they are preventing you from being the best person you can be. Next it's gonna be that it's too cold at night. Then the feeling of sweaters irritates your skin. Then you fear snails on sidewalks. Then you avoid the moon because you might become a werewolf.
Just stop the excuses and do what you have to do to get fit. Enough excuses.a healthy diet goes hand in hand with exercise. do some strength training. start lifting weights and doing resistance exercises. pushups, situps, dips to name a few. the more muscle you have the more fat is burned.
