16 commandments of poon: Full of it girls, or no?

It's like a manual of how to be the "bad boy" girls seem to be attracted to. Aside from being offensive (and it will be more so if you read the text that goes with each item at the link), I ask the women of GAG the following: Is he RIGHT?

I. Never say ‘I Love You’ first

II. Make her jealous

III. You shall make your mission, not your woman, your priority

IV. Don’t play by her rules

V. Adhere to the golden ratio

VI. Keep her guessing

VII. Always keep two in the kitty

VIII. Say you’re sorry only when absolutely necessary

X. Ignore her beauty

XI. Be irrationally self-confident

XII. Maximize your strengths, minimize your weaknesses

XIII. Err on the side of too much boldness, rather than too little

XIV. f*** her good

XV. Maintain your state control

XVI. Never be afraid to lose her

I. Is common sense. Girls abide by the same rule.

II. I get where it's coming from, but you'd easily shoot yourself in the foot with that one if you go overboard. However, if you do it casually and infrequently enough, so that she doesn't suspect you're purposefully trying to make her jealous, it is a successful strategy.

III. Excellent rule. Smart girls follow this rule also.

IV. Again, this is true, but be careful how you implement. You do need to assert yourself as the leader in the relationship, but if you seem completely incorrigible and childish about how things have to be done on your schedule, you'll seem like a stuck up prick and girls will drop you. If you *act* macho, you will not inspire a girl's confidence. You have to actually be that way. But it is true that deep down, especially powerful women, want to be conquered.

V. Absolutely.

VI. Definitely.

VII. This one should definitely be used with caution! It is absolutely a good thing to have a backup girl "in mind", because it keeps your ego up and prevents you from feeling cornered or desperate if things go south with the main girl. Girls use this strategy to prevent themselves from acting clingy. However, it's a terrible idea to vocalize or imply or otherwise let your prospective/current girlfriend know who your "backup" girl is. It's also a terrible idea to actually interact with this "backup" girl while you're in a relationship. No contact should be made, but it's merely that you can think to yourself that you wouldn't lose your self respect even if your girlfriend broke up with you in a cruel way.

VIII. As arrogant as that one sounds, actually I think it causes too much drama in a relationship when either one says sorry. It's like a drug/button word. It's much better to empathize with the person, say you feel bad and assure her it won't happen again. But you better make sure it doesn't happen again or else you better say you're sorry.

IX. Huh, that's an unusual piece of advice, but actually yes - the goal behind it is an effective one.

X. Good approach, but just let the girl suspect that you're purposefully ignoring her beauty, because she'll still know she has power over you and will just feel smug that you're trying so hard to overcome it...though this may encourage her to make a playful attempt to try to trick you into admitting that you think she's pretty.

XI. Fake it til you make it is a great strategy. However if you actually ARE irrationally self-confident, this will only work short term and girls will end up staying away from you.

XII. Yes, good advice. However it's always good to improve yourself especially in your weakest fields. Just don't "practice" your weaknesses when you're trying to pick up a girl.

XIII. True.

XIV. True but easier said than done lol.

XV. Veryyy good advice.

XVI. Yup.

Overall these were actually pretty good! This may be the best list I've seen so far. It gets to the heart of the issues without being distracted with just acting tough

I don't agree with some of them. I'll list them here. The ones I don't mention are the ones I agree with, at least somewhat.

II. is childish. Trying to make a girl jealous just makes you seem incredibly insecure. You don't need her validation like that.

IV. is only good if she tries to play you. Making compromises in relationships is always better than having a "my way or the highway" attitude, because that won't get you far. However, if she doesn't make compromises for you when you are for her, she's not worth it.



V. is just annoying. If I feel like the guy doesn't put in as much effort as I am, I drop him immediately.

VI. is also annoying. I don't like games, I don't like guessing. If he has something on his mind, he should tell me. If he likes me, he should tell me. Just as I would tell him.

VII. this is OK to an extent. It's good to keep your doors open. However, when you are a few dates in and it's starting to get somewhat serious, you should drop one of them. Juggling is too dangerous, and if you don't stop at the right time, you risk dropping everything.

X. is tricky. You shouldn't ignore her beauty, but neither should you shower her with compliments. Keeping it rare and simple is the best way to go. It will make it that more special.

XI. there's a difference between being self-confident and being cocky. Learning the difference is very important.

XII. never ever touch a woman inappropriately on a first date without her consent. Ever. That's like throwing yourself into the fiery pits of hell. It's SUCH a huge turn-off when a guy is sleazy and tactless like that. Sure, a little bold flirting here and there can be fun, but too much of it makes me want to gag. If you feel like you could be in a relationship with this girl, don't go all the way. She'll think you're only in it for the sex and she'll drop you without blinking an eye once she realizes this.

XV. is kind of hypocritical. According to II, V, VI etc you are allowed to play mind games and go hot/cold, but she isn't? No. You can't have your cake and then eat it too. If she isn't allowed to play mind games and go hot and cold, neither are you. Yes, it's good to stand your ground and to not fall for her tricks, but then you should not play any tricks on her either.

XVI. is true, but only to an extent. If you get into a serious relationship that lasts for many happy years, you SHOULD be afraid of losing her. Not to the extent where it will make you jealous, insecure and whiny. But where it lets you know that hey, she's a good girl, she's a keeper, which means you should never do something stupid that will make her go away. If you aren't at least one bit afraid, chances are you'll become careless about your decisions and what you say/do to her, as if she doesn't really matter.

Lol, unconditional love and happiness, huh? You know, I'm sure there are women who will want a guy like this. I just know that I don't. Having delved into what PUA is all about, I know this advice is right up that alley. Their entire mindset is repulsive to me. It's not even some of the actions mentioned in that list, it's their fundamental reasoning and attitude behind it. Even "f*** her good" is about control and manipulation. Luckily I'm not too shabby at spotting these types. Flirting with other girls in front of me is a great indication.

Anyway, love or attraction to this kind of man holds no interest for me, because there is no respect, and no peace or trust I can have in him. How exhausting and soul-killing for him as well, to become like this, unless he already is like this on a basic level. I vaguely wonder when it all shatters. Seems like if there is a win, it'd be an empty win. He's got his captive and compliant slave. Yay.

Why would you ask women this? Relatively few men or women are actually self-aware enough to intellectually tell you what they are attracted to on an emotional level.

85% of men for example will say they like laid back girls who wear no makeup and that they hate plastic surgery.

Go watch a woman who has had good plastic surgery and great makeup and hair and a short dress and see how the men ignore her ...

Basically all that advice is how it seems to a basically nice guy who is trying to behave a certain way. But its not the impression a woman would get observing him from the outside.

From her standpoint it would be more like he's :

- strong, careful, abides by his own advice, capable, sees the real me, brave, good in bed, not clingy or insecure, stable.

Funny how it sounds better that way, isn't it?

what a load of bollocks. that's to me the perfect picture of a self-absorbed, narcissistic attention-seeker, who needs to 'keep two in the kitty' not to bash his fragile self-esteem when rejected. so basically settling for a 'whatever' relationship. sounds a lot like manipulation, too. if these are the rules for casual-sex hunters, I could partly understand. but I cannot see any logical reason for anyone interested in a genuine and healthy human interaction to follow them.
