I just started working out more and whenever I do chin-ups, my elbows hurt for a few minutes afterwards. It's not as much pain as it is discomfort. Does this mean that I'm neglecting a certain muscle? Or is this just normal?
It may be the tendons & or ligaments in your elbow. Try not going straight down but a bit of an angle to keep the weight on the bi's.
Think about using a barbell to work your Bi's when your standing. The bar is in front of you giving you a bit of an angle.

Try focusing on warming up first. When you feel an unusual pain that has nothing to do with muscles getting tired, you stop immediately.
