Can you be considered a "natural beauty" if you had braces?

A natural beauty as in someone who is not cosmetically advanced by some type of surgery or non "natural" procedure.

  • To me it's not worth dissecting "natural" in this context too much. Doing so might get us back to women with very hairy legs and armpits, men with body odor and beards that reach their knees, horrible breath, body odor, caveman hair, fingernails and toenails so long that they start to curl, etc.

Plastic surgery, when sought out purely for aesthetic reasons, is often discouraged (and probably should be) because, unlike straightening teeth, it often lacks any functional purpose, is at risk of complications, can be sought out by those who have self-projected insecurities, can be addictive, and prone to some very serious complications. Furthermore it too often doesn't enhance a person's appearance and can do the precise opposite.

  • They can make a girl look girly and real cute. I'm 22 so that's not exactly my style, but in terms of looking sympathetic and sweet it can be a win. And yes, with braces you can totally stay good looking. So if you're already a young beauty it won't hurt it. Having the cute girl style is better, braces would damage more a sporty girl's looks.

  • Braces can be seen as cute. I have always wanted to date a girl with braces. I think they look cute on girls. The tough part would be kissing and no gum chewing when kissing. Lol.

  • yes, because straight teeth serve a practical purpose unlike implants of botox.

  • "Natural beauty" usually means a great face that needs little or no makeup. It doesn't mean an absence of cosmetic surgery or orthodontia, because most cosmetic surgery is undetectable.

  • Depends on how effed up your teeth were naturally..

If you had to do some corrections with braces because YOU or somehow and accident and such caused damage or crookedness to your teeth, but they were naturally straight.. Then in those cases you can still say you were naturally perfect in sense of teeth.. If you were just naturally growing them ugly and crooked that's not naturally perfect in sense of teeth.

But that aside.. Some people are really attractive even with crooked teeth.. Adriana Lima for example... To the point where some people never even notice their teeth were crooked until someone points it out..

So it depends on how bad they naturally were.

  • If they were in their respective places before you had braces like these:

Then I guess you can be considered a natural beauty.
Also, gaps are considered natural beauty, just to point that out.

  • Ah maybe, but I looked so bad with braces.
Glad I got them though, definitely contributed to looking nice ~after~ I got them off.
