Why do 30 year old men date 18 year old girls?

I can understand 50 plus dating 18 year olds, but not 30. I would think when I hit 30 I would want her to at least for sure have graduated high school.

Hmm.. There's a reason to why the average 30 yr old male would date someone 18 years old. 1) Naturally, older males will be attracted to a female younger than him. 2) Because the young girl brings him a sense of comfort and good energy. When you're in your late 20's nearing your 30's it would be somewhat hard to find talk to peers about certain things. But when talking to someone younger, they are more likely be the listening type, and also most likely to make that older person feel as if they aren't alone. Both age groups would gain something from each other. The oldest would gain his sense of youth and positivity. The youngest would have a bit more insight on whats ahead of her before she even hits her 30. She would gain a sense of maturity and better understanding on adulthood. Each age group has something to gain from each other. Balancing each other out. I hope this helps

Honestly I think it's just the fact that 18 year olds are usually in better shape than their older counterparts, are gullible, and they're legal. A pretty 18 year old girl that gets hit on by an older guy who has all this ~experience~ and is all ~sensitive~? Compared to high school guys? That's a dream come true. I'm not saying that all 18 year olds would fall for something like this, but it's certainly a very possible scenario.

A lot of times it's vanity, the make wants to feel younger and more attractive, so he dates a young girl.
The young girl wants to feel mature and taken seriously, so she dates a 30 year old. she can then seem "more adult" in her eyes.
Obviously this isn't the answer for all of em, but just a basic understanding of the stereotype.

When I was 28, I had my divorce, after marrying someone who was a bad mistake. In that age range, late 20's to early 30's, it seemed like all the women in that age bracket were married off and hadn't divorced yet, if that was going to happen.

So there were two choices:
1. Become a teenybopper's "older man", buying them drinks and giving them car rides, or

18 I think is too young for anyone over 29 or so but it might work with some people. I think 22 or 24 is a better age for women to consider dating a much older man or even vice versa.
