For me personally, coming from a military backrounded family, I've always seen competition as "healthy", but I personally grow and work better as a TEAM unit. I believe that "leadership" in all its facets, MUST go alongside TEAMWORK!! there can be "personal" leadership of oneself yes, but as the Navy Seals would teach, there are only two things about leadership that really matter: there is EFFECTIVE leadership, and INNEFECTIVE leadership. It's that simple. Either a leader is leading his/her team well and effectively, or their not. There is no in between. Will leaders make mistakes? U bet!! But it's how a leader RISES from those mistakes and LEARNS from them that will end up being either what makes him even better and more effective, or through his lack of humility and teachableness, can make him to be a complete HAZARD to those he is leading!
Hope that helps.

Competing makes me perform my best but sometimes collaborating with a team in a competition is also favourable!
Collaborating of course! :-) I am a great fan of harmony. I cannot be at peace with myself in a competitive environment so most of the time I just give up if I need to compete.
if others are pulling their weight, then collaborating the synergies of different strengths in harness
I have to work against the clock. That stimulates me.

From my point of view, I perform better when it is in collaboration, rather than in competition. I don't like or enjoy direct competition, because to me there is no such thing as win or lose it is how you "play" the game. When I do something, I'm in it to win it... any means necessary. Therefore, I would prefer others collaborate with me rather than compete with me. Keeps the "bloodshed" of others to a minimum! How's the saying go? "All is fair in Love and War".
That's my bottom line.I don't like working with people because they're lazy and stiflingly small minded.
I don't like competing with people because they're often vicious and scrape the bottom of the barrel to win.
I don't put this on my CV...I work best when collaborating as a team, while also competing against another team haha
Neither I work better when I m left to my own devices
