Some are. Some are just sporty and like to exercise. Guys feel confident when they look good and feel powerful and in control of their life. Think of this: Are all billionaires scumbags? The ones that get all high and mighty and think they are better than all the rest are. But the ones who do charity work and lead a normal but fun life are not. It is all about who you are. Guys that go to the gym and are alright around people and are not show offs are fine. Those who are otherwise are not. If you are going to get all whatever about it and show off like an idiot that shows that that is the only thing you have going for you. We can establish by the varied comments here that there are nice gym guys. Another thing, maybe people that get jealous and feel like poop about themselves because they don't look like that are in the same boat. They are placing importance on the wrong things. Haha, I am thinking of going to the gym and getting all fit soon, nice to know that people's opinions of me will change for the worse... :P

So if I work out on playgrounds I'm not as douchy? The only people I get flack from is people that don't have time to engage their body's ability to slip in their desired physique. If I gain five pounds it's easy to redirect it to muscle just because of repetition. Not full of my self, I'm just a hyperactive coffee brotha. ugh, I HATE when people make this kind of assumptions... what's wrong with being proud of what you've got after so much hard work? i've met lots of 'gym guys' and let me tell ya they are all amazing people. Enjoying a certain activity and loving the results it gives you doesn't make you a 'douche'. Stop being so judgmental.

Not all, I spend all my times in the gym and in the ring training my ass off. I never wear tank top, I never party, I never go to the beach or in festival or in any places where the yolo guys go to make their show off.

So yeah dont put all people in the same bascket. Moreover most of the times, those gym rats are not serious athletes since they party a lot and you cannot maintain good performances with this life style.

What's wrong with taking selfies? If someone had a hobby of collecting old beaten down vintage cars fixing them up, would he be a douche for posting his hard work on social media? I train 6 days a week and am more than entitled to be proud of the result. I'm not going to hide my life away from others because it triggers them. It's the same concept.
