Would it be awkward if I went to Starbucks alone for a few hours to finish some school work?

I am so bored and was planning on not going out that much today since I'm single and there will be couples everywhere while the single people will probably stay inside and be sad. I'm not even sad I love being single most of the time since I am not a bad looking dude and get hit on by girls more than the average guy probably does. But I'm just really picky with girls so my options are pretty limited thanks to that...And I also don't do well in relationships since I really like my space and have a tendency to "become busy" and disappear for 2-3 days at a time...you girls seem to hate when that happens and I hate when you blow up my phone all day asking what I'm doing and why I can't see you or talk on the phone for 3 hours right now. I know I'm the one at fault here since most guys don't disappear for 2-3 days but hopefully one day I meet a girl that likes doing that too and we might last longer than a few months haha...

Anyway my excuses for being single put aside, do you think people would stare if I went to Starbucks alone and just did some schoolwork for a few hours? I know there will be tons and tons of couples in Starbucks probably and I might be the only guy there that is alone so that might get a little awkward. On the other hand there might be some cute single girls there too that will be more open to being naughty with a guy they just met tonight since a lot of single girls get sad on this day lol.

I never really linger at Starbucks longer than it takes to pick up some coffee so not sure what kind of people usually stay there for hours to do work or socialize especially on this day. I don't really worry too much about what people think I just hate being stared at or pitied and that's probably what will happen if the place is filled with couples.

Uh so anyway would it be weird if I went to Starbucks alone for a few hours?

People go there alone to do work, read and shit all the time. It is perfectly normal and no one will judge you for that. I often go to movies alone to relax.

Lol my friends always make fun of people that go to movies alone behind their backs. Personally I don't think it's weird but just FYI on that and people probably do judge you and think you have no friends if you go to a movie alone. But who cares if that's something you enjoy go for it I say! Probably not a good idea tonight tho

Starbucks isn't really a couple place. Its a pretty common 'i'm working with coffee and free wifi' place.

I always see more people in groups or couples than people doing work alone but maybe it depends what time you it is.

Well most of the ones around where I work have 40 agitated businessmen/women in line getting coffee to go, lol, but a few seats used up and plenty of individuals. Coffee shops are a standard place for people to go work and have coffee while they do.

I don't really go to starbucks often so you're probably right. I wish they had some real competition because starbucks is so annoying with their cup sizes and how some of the employees try to correct me when I say medium or large. And their coffee is not even that good most of the time but I like the lighting and the coffee shop environment.

I don't think it's awkward. I wouldn't really think anything of it other than a person trying to get away from something to focus on his/her studies.
