How to get over my ex whose personality has totally changed?

Hey. My and my ex dated for 1yr and a half. Things were great until I started dealing with serious family issues for two months. He said that he would be there no matter what. Well after those issues disappeared, I was calling to meet with him because I haven't seen him for two weeks or talked to him for one week. I asked him could we meet but he never wanted to. One day I texted him to say him and he said that we're together like BAM! Since then he has become very arrogant, selfish, money hungry, and a player. The problem is I still love the old him. I know he isn't going to be that sweet lovable person any more if he doesn't want to, but how can I get over him completely. I love the old him so bad and I want him back. Please give advice.

Well people change, fact of life. You also sound like you wanna get back with the old him rather then get over the new him. I mean if you still really love him and want to get back with him, you could try changing him back. It is harder said then done but its not impossible. Does he know that you want the old him back? try talking to him about this, tell him how you miss the old him. Like you said "i know he isn't going to be that sweet lovable person any more if he doesn't want to," you have to make him want to be then. If worst comes to worst like he absolutely has no feelings for you anymore or something along the lines of that, or if you just wanna get over him then I guess try seeing other people, maybe you'll realize there's someone better for you. I would say move on from him as soon as you can, it will do you no good loving him like that, you are coming out the worst by far. You need to go out and about with your friends and consider meeting new fresh people to broaden your horizons again.

was I started talking and seeing other guys .

and it showed me that there were other
