Why did my ex sleep with a machete under the bed?

So my now ex and I had broken up and gotten back together. During the time we were separated he I believe got involved with at least 1 other woman. When I came back home/ "got back together" he had bought a huge knife I'm guessing which is called a machete & stored it under his side of the bed. Anyone care to let me know or share what they think that means?
