Following the logic that if someone who works hard to take care of the house and kids (and potentially ruins her (if it’s a woman) body having them) why would she only get half if he’s the one to cheat? If you follow the logic, he should give everything if he cheats.

I’m not a person who would ever perform infidelity, nor do I believe my boyfriend would. But I was thinking about it and people are very bitter but not at all inconsistent. In fact a lot of the people who are bitter don’t believe the breadwinner should give anything even if they’re the one that cheats or initiates divorce… yet those same people often believe in traditional roles where the woman stays home as the homemaker. (Which I also believe in)

There are a couple of problems with what you've written here.

First, very few men believe the breadwinner should not give anything in divorce. I'm sure some do, but the majority don't.

And it's never the case that the homemaker gets nothing in divorce is she cheats. That just doesn't happen. She may get less than she would if she didn't cheat, but no judge is going to award her nothing. It's far more likely she'll still get half of the assets.

There are lots of other considerations, but those are a few examples.

In a perfect world yes, there would be repercussions for stepping out on your marriage. But divorce laws are already so skewed in women's favor that I'm just not a fan of anything that makes it worst for men. I see so many men get essentially raped by the court system even when they didn't step out of the marriage, because women are often assumed to be the victims. The goal initially was to protect women, but a lot of women today unfortunately leverage that to exploit unsuspecting men.

Yea you’re right. But unfortunately those relationships don’t hardly ever work. Most people don’t know what a traditional marriage really is…. And it’s breeding grounds for abuse on BOTH sides

The breadwinner gives 50 to the Homemaker of the breadwinner cheats… but some people may say the homemaker deserves nothing if the homemaker cheats. Why wouldn’t the homemaker get 50? Or else why wouldn’t the homemaker get 100% if the breadwinner cheats (if you believe the homemaker deserves 0 for cheating)
