If somebody breaks up early - either distrust, a fear of wasting time, a desire for more high status options or more sexual ones, or possibly an incompatible choice. Compatibility is easy and quick to disprove. Character takes longer to disprove.

When both are true…one can figure out by roughly 6-9 months of dating if this will let to marriage.
if one doesn’t see a future…by 9 months to a yr. it should end… any more time…still waste. So don’t go further to 3,5,7,10 yrs…if there is no marriage.
