Guys, if your girlfriend found out she was pregnant (to you), how would you want her to tell you?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and I just found out I’m pregnant. My boyfriend is at work so I’ll have to wait until tonight to break the news. But I don’t know how to tell him. From a guys perspective, how would you want your girlfriend to break the news to you? Just outright say “I’m pregnant”? Or what?

And girls, if you’ve been pregnant to your boyfriend or husband before, how did you tell him and what was his reaction?

I had to tell him via text as we were no longer together, but if we had been together I would have told him in private during a conversation.

Do you know if he would be happy that you are pregnant and he is going to be a dad? If you do. Maybe buy a baby outfit and put it in a draw that he uses often and attach a note that says something like baby arriving 2024 so that when he opens the draw he gets a little surprise

It’s still really fresh and I have some deciding to do, but so far I don’t think that I want to keep it. I’ve never wanted kids and I was told by a medical professional when I was 18 that I was infertile. So this is truly a shock. How do I tell him that I’m pregnant and that I might not want to keep it?

I was also told I was infertile by the doctor and that I would never fall pregnant fell pregnant by surprise in 2022 and I decided to keep the baby and it was the best decision although I will admit it was hard to bond with my baby because I didn't believe I was pregnant or that I was actually going to be a mum but I don't regret keeping my baby

Sorry if this is too personal, but did you find it hard after giving birth? Post partum depression and all? Especially after being told that you’re infertile.

I definitely had postnatal depression in the days after giving birth. I believe I even had perinatal depression during my pregnancy because I felt so disconnected to my baby because I thought I was living in a fantasy like me being pregnant wasn't real. I never really experienced happiness even when seeing my baby during the ultrasounds I just felt somewhat numb because I thought it was fake like a dream and non of it was real

It didn't help that I've been doing it completely alone with no help and no support as well but here I am 5 months later and I am very protective of my baby and I am slowly starting to form a bond with her. I truly believe I fell pregnant for a reason and that my daughter was a gift / miracle

If you have a supportive partner and you have a strong supportive family and friends who are there for you. You will be able to beat the postpartum depression if you do experience this but there is also a possibility you may not experience ppd

Best thing is to talk to your partner and let him know your fears so that you can make a decision on what is best for you both

The first time my girlfriend told me she was pregnant, she kept it pretty normal until dinner. Then she brought me my favorite dessert but with a card that said simply, "Before you have dessert, I I just wanted to tell you something that I think you will enjoy even more."

She was right! I was scared. I was shocked - and I was wildly happy. In fact, I am embarrassed to admit this, but I held her in my arms - and then started to cry.

My girlfriend and I have had three babies together - all unplanned pregnancies except for the third which was not really planned but not unexpected. I love the little gifts she has given me.

Now, the way not to do it... I had a one night stand 14 years ago. In truth - and I know, this sounds like a bad movie - I didn't know the gal at all. It was just a business trip, she was hot and nature took its' course.

Twelve years later I get contacted by a woman whose name I barely remembered. She told me that I was a father to a 12 year old boy. I got her pregnant but she decided to keep it to herself until deciding that he should know his father.

Long story short, that was two years ago and I am working hard to build a relationship with my son. However, I resent how much of his life I have missed and am working hard to get along with his mother only for his sake. I love my son and happily he gets along with his stepmother and his half-siblings.

So I have done it both way. (Also, another woman I had been dating back in my early 20s aborted my baby without telling me. That was also deeply painful.) Trust me, from the man's perspective, the first way was the best.
