Sadly , in the very least 5 years , no matter the status of the break up , maybe financially longer , it depends on how you adjust , if young children are involved , for an average person in reality' its probably a decade , just go day by day by day , and be extremely careful with any new suitors.
You see stuff on TV with mega wealthy celebrates and lawyers , and you think " they did it " , yeah maybe , but look at the actual cost , the worst part is a settlement if lawyers are involved , keep them out of it , completely , just signoff , its tough.
Its also worse , country dependent , here in Thailand they just leave , you cannot do that in Australia , and with young children , you have the element and complete rip off of child support , especially if the other partner in financially illiterate.

Took me about 2 years. During that time I concentrated on my career and worked really long hours. I also saw a therapist once a month for a year and a half. 2 years after the divorce I started a business and bought a house free and clear. About 2.5 years after the divorce I felt like dating again and was going out 2-3 times a week. Getting cheated on and getting a divorce was the best thing that ever happened because my life is 1000% times better now.
It took me a couple of years. I left with just the clothes on my back
