What were some of the dumbest reasons you've heard for someone breaking up/cheating on someone that made you shake your head?

I knew a girl that cheated on her boyfriend because he didn’t keep his leftover food , he apparently just threw it in the trash and she went and cheated on him? She said she wasn’t raised that way? But you were raised to cheat over something that stupid? What was some of the stupidest reasons you heard people break up over or cheat on their partners over ’ or even you if it happened to you?

💀 that is a very dumb reason. That's just an excuse I feel like. I'd say my ex breaking up with me was a dumb reason. It wasn't at all his fault tho, his mom made him and he was living with her, she was very controlling and stuff. But Because my ex asked my dad what my dad would do if we had marriage problems and I went to him. My dad said he would give me advice then tell me to go back and fix it with him.

My ex's mom said she didn't like how my dad responded, that she was wanting him to just say "go and fix it with him". It literally was the same pretty much lol, but I don't know 😐

I doubt that was the actual, reason just an excuse/lie for cheating to blame the other person and not take any responsibility for her actions.

Issue in the premise somewhat, the reasons people give for breaking up can be completely fake, for good intents, on purpose or not, plus they can be oblivious about the real reasons they didn't give. Same for cheating. I wouldn't trust any reasons given out in the wild to be legitimate really

I talked my guitarist into marrying his long-time girlfriend. Before I met her, she'd just had her 2nd nervous breakdown.
Once they decided to get married, they chose to do so at a wicca festival in Wisc.. About 3 weeks after they came back, she'd heard that the people at the hospital she'd been to for her breakdown were going to a local amusement park for a day and she wanted to go just to use them for a ride to and from the park and, once there, she'd have nothing more to do with those people.
She asked John to go with her. He refused to go on the grounds that him going with her would be like telling her it was okay for her to be sick. She'd made up her mind that she was gonna go so, he broke up with her and moved back into his mother's house.

I had a complete moron of a coworker who would stop any relationship from even forming with guys after snooping in their medicine cabinet. She made it an absolute point to try to get to their bathroom as soon as possible so she can make her cringy judgments. When we asked her what's in the medicine cabinet that's a deal breaker she couldn't even tell us It was a big secret. I mean this girl was really a lot of fries short in a Happy Meal...
