Not sure if it counts as a break up since we never made things official and only had 3 dates, but here goes:

During our 3rd date, I took some food to go because the place served large portions. I heard a homeless man's stomach grumble and gave the food to him. She broke up with me because "You helped a bum instead of giving the food to me, your girl? I need to date a real man and that's not what you are". Keep in mind we were never official. Also, she never asked or even hinted she wanted my food.

A guy I know claimed a girl he was engaged to broke things off bc he was committed to taking care of his mom. (I called bs because he’s generally a player who travels a lot “for work” which is MOST likely what she was responding to… no gal wants to marry the guy who has fun all year and leaves HER to tend to his mom.) Anyway he’s been released back into the wild, worse than ever and preying on unsuspecting young women with this sob story.

I once heard of a couple breaking up because the guy ate a slice of pizza that his girlfriend was saving for later. She called it “the ultimate betrayal” and said she could never trust him again. Another one was a girl who dumped her boyfriend because he clapped when the plane landed—she said she couldn’t be with someone who did that.

I generally do not judge this, but when I was younger my dad had a friend whose son (about 15 years older than I am) dumped a perfectly lovely sweetheart of a girl who adored him. Why? Because, as he said, "If I can get her I can get someone better." Last I heard, she was happily married with four kids and he is still single.
