I need advice , please help me?

My boyfriend and I broke up last year. But we constantly talk to each other and spoke about what led to the breakup. The breakup was 100% my fault because I moved abroad and was struggling with university and finding a job and we had to long distance which was 10 hours apart which led to a lot misunderstandings and it hurt him lot because I wasn't giving him much time and was inconsiderate of his feelings and he cried a lot. His mom and I got on really well at first but after things got difficult for me and when she saw her son crying she made comments like I'm ruining her son's life and eventually things went way out of hand and his parents told him to break up with me. It was really hard for me because I'm only 21 and living away from parents and losing my first love who I thought was going to be my everything just ended like that. It's been 6 months since the break up and I want to fix everything with him. But he said he can't date me without his family's consent. I basically need to win his mom's heart, I spoke to her yesterday but I couldn't speak to her properly because I was crying and later that day she told my guy that she won't ever change her mind about me. Any advice to win her over guys?

It already didn’t work once, why dwell on it and not move onto a guy that isn’t so far and can make his own decisions of who he dates? Why dredge this up again?

Honestly you could do better than him, I wouldn’t waste my time trying to get back with him. What’re you going to do, carry on with long distance? What’s the point? You’re in a new city with new people. Find someone local. You’re young, your first love doesn’t have to be your last.
