We were in a band together: The Ex boyfriend, my Ex girlfriend, and I (along with others). We were all very tight. Every weekend we would party at my house. I had admired her from a distance for over 2 years. They had what seemed like a "cool" relationship. They had space and freedom. But, they were constantly on and off.
With his permission, I took her to a family wedding. We had an extremely powerful *click*. We talked and talked. She told me how she didn't want the space, he always ignored her and he preferred to spend time with me. She had cheated on him, but he never got mad, he never showed any emotion. He always took her back. By mid-wedding it was clear, though unspoken, we had fallen in love with each other. We didn't kiss, or engage in risque behavior.
A week later she dumped him. We began to talk more and hang out. I was playing it cool. We didn't kiss for over a month after they broke up. 6 weeks after they were split, I went to him and said I wanted to be up-front and honest: I intend on dating your EX. He took it poorly, quit the band and stopped talking to both of us. She acted OK at first, but then she started to feel more and more guilty about his feelings.
I could feel her start to distance herself, and I always let her be honest and open. She suddenly dumped me. She said she fell out of love with me "like a light switch flipped". She could not tell me why she fell out of love, just that the line went dead.
I have been a wreck for the last month. I didn't get all pissed and say rude things. I have been trying to be supportive to show her how much she means to me.
I just found out she is hanging out with the EX again. She won't tell me if she's seeing him, but I am pretty sure she is.
I gave her all the attention, love, support, bedroom fulfillment, gifts, conversation, experiences and emotional connection she could ever want.
Everything I did was "so much better than him."
Why would she go back to an aloof, selfish, unmotivated man?
