U used to be Lumberman53 right? If so, then welcome back bro!
Who cares? If enough people buy and use this kind of thing, take advantage of it and buy stocks, bonds, etc. whatever for companies and manufacturers that build, supply, assemble components for these robots. You never know, because it might just be the next big thing and that brief window of opportunity is typically at the beginning. I mean look at Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, those that invested in them early and cashed out made good or insanely good returns on them and they have very little to worry about for their financial future.
@JudgmentDay Yeah man it's me and thanks I'm glad to be back. Yeah I'm sure there enough people out there who want them that it will be a lasting business. It's just not for me is all, but I don't have any opposition to others using them. They can do what they want with their lives.
Never know what gains you'll yield. Invest early, just put aside some money that you can afford to risk, because the stock market and investments are pretty much gambling anyway. If things are going consistent, risk a bit more, but set a certain amount that you are willing to risk, if it starts to drop significantly or is way too volatile, fuck it, trade it, sell it all of and cash it out or something. But nobody will ever know. I presume it would be an addictive new thing so that might cause a significant stock price increase at least for the companies that manufacturers or build the components for those kind of robots. I don't see mass ownership though, so unless it's gonna be stuff where people can rent and pay to use them like somebody mentioned a "robot brothel" and if those become common and people keep returning to them then that might affect stock values. Only trouble is if it gets to big and it became the next BIG THING, the government might start to crack down on it and regulate it and then that might change things and hurt the stock value, because of bad publicity and blah blah. I'm just throwing and sharing my idea with you and others because I mean you see how random and unstable the economy currently is right? You never know if one day you'll all of a sudden lose your job because for whatever reason, the company you work for goes bankrupt, management changes because of some company merger and restructuring, and depending upon when you lose your job it can be very difficult to recover and get back on your feet. That's basically the whole point of investing early and taking chances, and having a back up and extra source of income at least for emergencies in case of shit like that happening. You can no longer simply and solely or entirely rely on the company or employer you work for, hell you can't even rely on the government to take care of you anymore either. Best to just do something about it than realize one day it's all much much too late.
Pretty much. Sex sells. It's something people in general become so engrossed and addicted with, thus it would make more sense to captalize on it and take advantage of it whenever and however you possibly can.
I know it sounds good, but there something amazing about know the person you are with is with cuz they choose to rather than program to. Although I never dated a robot.
I would think the expense of buying one and maintaining one would be pretty expensive, probably very heavy and there might places you can’t take them to go out because they are not a person which is part of dating, someone to go out with you
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay

Just here for the beta "males" who agree with this crap. And they are probably the exact same people who cry and whine about women not wanting them.
It all depends on how you define consciousness but going by Wikipedia and in a way that is agreeable with most people : "defined variously in terms of sentience, awareness, qualia, subjectivity, the ability to experience or to feel, wakefulness, having a sense of selfhood or soul, the fact that there is something "that it is like" to "have" or "be" it, and the executive control system of the mind"
90% of AI is statistics with good hardware. Don't overhype it. And let's we could get computers to have "executive control of the mind", why would we want that? Computers and robots do jobs for us no one wants to do. That's their jobs. We don't want them to be conscious and think for themselves. And one thing is very clear, if they could think for themselves, they sure as hell aren't gonna have sex with you
@nalaa Current AI cannot do that, but in the future, it is a possibility. AI, according to definition is "intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals." That's it. Where we are technologically right now we cannot. But in the future, when we learn more about how the human brain works and how to apply our knowledge to create a conscious AI, that is when we can create AI that are conscious. We're at the infancy of this technology right now.
In reality "I'd wait until we actually work on AI more and get them conscious." means you'll die waiting, along with the rest of the people who think robots are gonna replace human relationships anytime soon.
And that's one evolutionary algorithm doing it's job
Computers aren't going to because conscious because they are ultimately programmed. Programmed means they do what people tell them to do. There's no real autonomy although it can appear as an illusion.
@cavmanier Well I'm no expert, but what if we have a machine that randomly adjusts the computer, and we have a test for that computer. Whichever ones are the tops 50% continue, and the bottom 50% gets thrown away. We have the machine then make randomly adjustmented copies, test them again, and repeat. At no point did we program it to do some task.
There are random functions, think of how casino slot machines work or like a dice rolling in a game. If you play a game with variable attack damage, there's percentages of likelihood of the damages. That's all programmed though. I'm not sure if that's what you mean.
"Well obviously, I would find a person. But if the day comes when this is a reality, I'd have no issue dating a robot"
Well you certainly are quite the catch
"Well I'm no expert, but what if we have a machine that randomly adjusts the computer, and we have a test for that computer. None of this makes any sense really but I'm assuming you're talking about a basic evolutionary algorithm. And evolutionary algorithms are very much programmed. A lot of time is spend defining and testing the "fitness" of each generation or in your words, defining what makes the top 50% the top 50%? Also no one is gonna write an algorithm to randomly do things. That algorithm is gonna have a purpose and it's gonna be terminated after a certain amount of iterations.
The whole point of AI is to get a program to do something we might not have predicated that doesn't mean conscious. And depending on who you ask it doesn't mean they're intelligent either. by the way computers behave in ways we didn't predict all the time. Computers have killed people by issuing too much radiation, almost caused ww3 by falsely identifying hostile rockets in soviet airspace , destroyed up 8bn dollar rockets , grounded planes, overpaid and underpaid people... all unpredicted. That doesn't imply consciousnesses
Best to consider investing in those stocks for those robot manufacturer while and if they are still low. If there are tons of customers lining up to buy this stuff it's gonna help you diversify your retirement portfolio, and provide some extra insurance against unexpected job loss such as layoffs from company restructuring and merging. It may or may not be the next big thing, but it's something to consider and think about, but don't put all your eggs in one basket.
If that is what they do they'd help someone looking to invest in stocks, assuming there's enough demand and this industry grows and expands. Can be useful, you never know? With the way how random and unstable the economy is now, nobody can entirely rely on a job or their employer to take care of them anymore. My point is to take advantage and capitalize on this should and if this ever becomes the next big thing. It may not necessarily be a get rich quick, but diversifying an investment portfolio and retirement portfolio can't hurt.
This is good as long as there are enough people interested and willing to spend money on things like this it creates a new investment possibility and opportunities. Having an additional source of income is crucial these days especially with the rising costs of living and how unstable the economy has become.

It would be boring for me if I ever choose to do that. I would prefer to date a real woman, even if it costs more. It's worth it.
And as of yet, sexbots don't wake up the next morning, or 10 years later, and decide that you raped them.
Well I'm not sure about dating a robot, but a sex bot I am down with.
Maintenance is probably cheaper in the long run anyways.
If that's what you want go for it, but I would never be with a robot

@JudgmentDay considering how expensive they are and how popular they are I could believe it
Pretty much. Sex sells. It's something people in general become so engrossed and addicted with, thus it would make more sense to captalize on it and take advantage of it whenever and however you possibly can.
@JudgmentDay yeah exactly
I always think of Kreiger From Archer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1USoIsXkaKMI know it sounds good, but there something amazing about know the person you are with is with cuz they choose to rather than program to. Although I never dated a robot.
You’re still young. Women now adays aren’t women. They will use you abuse you and throw you in the garbage.
I would think the expense of buying one and maintaining one would be pretty expensive, probably very heavy and there might places you can’t take them to go out because they are not a person which is part of dating, someone to go out with you
If you feel you can't attract a real women, then by all means go right ahead.
To be honest, I feel disillusioned with dating & marriage.
6. Because you are unable to satisfy a woman sexually.
Who cares?
@JamesRandiDebates women care.
So, again, who cares? I wasn't put on this planet to satisfy some bint.
@JamesRandiDebates exactly, that's what real men were put on this earth for.
Do not worry. We don’t want you☺️

Just here for the beta "males" who agree with this crap. And they are probably the exact same people who cry and whine about women not wanting them.
Thank you! This is dumb
I wrote it since I am disillusioned with dating & marriage.
But more seriously, that would probably the closest thing to a woman I could ever date.
I'd wait until we actually work on AI more and get them conscious.
That's not how AI works
@nalaa What do you mean? I mean it's conceivable in the future to create AI that are conscious.
No it isn't.
It all depends on how you define consciousness but going by Wikipedia and in a way that is agreeable with most people :
"defined variously in terms of sentience, awareness, qualia, subjectivity, the ability to experience or to feel, wakefulness, having a sense of selfhood or soul, the fact that there is something "that it is like" to "have" or "be" it, and the executive control system of the mind"

@nalaa I mean what really sets us apart from AI? We just so happen to be the product of evolution over millions of years.
You've got to be kidding, right?
@nalaa What do you mean?
This has to be joke
If it's not, take a class on it. Plenty of intro to AI to be found online and then let's talk about how it's the same
@nalaa At the current state, AI are not advance enough to be like humans. But there is no reason to think it cannot be done.
The reason is, that's not how AI works. It's not what it's supposed to do
@nalaa Current AI cannot do that, but in the future, it is a possibility. Ya in theory, in the future.

@cavmanier Actually it is possible because you could have something set up in which the computer changes itself in a way we cannot predict.
How would that be done?
@cavmanier Well I'm no expert, but what if we have a machine that randomly adjusts the computer, and we have a test for that computer. Whichever ones are the tops 50% continue, and the bottom 50% gets thrown away. We have the machine then make randomly adjustmented copies, test them again, and repeat. Lmao. Maybe in another twenty or thirty years the tech will be advanced enough.
Best to consider investing in those stocks for those robot manufacturer while and if they are still low. @JudgmentDay
true. You never know, though.
Too bad we missed out on that window of opportunity with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Sigh.
Is this what incels do? I feel bad for them
If that is what they do they'd help someone looking to invest in stocks, assuming there's enough demand and this industry grows and expands. Can be useful, you never know? I told one of my girlfriends that what me to get a boyfriend that I'll get one when boyfriend bots will exist lol
Change this to "Why I can't keep a long term relationship" and I'll read it
This is really sad
Lmao...😂 I just thought the same
I'd rather date a robot too!
There will be male sex robots too ;)
@Unit1 Great! No nagging! ♡
Seriously yeah! No nagging is best ☺ 💕
@Unit1 i hope us women will be able to choose a dick size too. Men are TERRIBLE lovers on average.. sorry my mind is spilling over!
Everything can be customized. They did not leave the genitals out ;)
The men you have seen on average must have been TERRIBLE.
@Unit1 quite so!
I think you meant males have small penises on average
