What did you guys decide on when making the date?
Some girls just want to meet you there, especially if they don't know you that well so they don't depend on you for a ride if the date goes badly.
He's supposed to pick you up. It's the decent thing to do.
there is no "should" or "shouldn't". just do whatever you prefer/is more practical

It depends on where do you live and how far from where you want to go with him, in my experience the girls always choose to meet somewhere
