I think it's actually the opposite of backhanded compliments like he will insult me in a laughing way but it's kind of meant as a compliment deep down?
Like I recently cut my hair and he said he doesn't like short hair on girls, but that it made me look older than 14 (I'm 20) and attractive.
Then he compared me to another friend of us saying that I was fatter than her but that she's too thin anyway and that I 'carry the weight right'.
The other day he kept joking about me being an attention freak because I carry my phone in my back pocket and it 'draws attention to you know where'
I don't know if I'm being paranoid or should take all of this as a joke but we're no more than friends and if he does want something more it's an awkward situation to be put on that I'd rather avoid. I guess my question is: how seriously should I take this and does he want to be more than friends?
