Tinder: why do guys swipe right and forget? Guys and girls opinions needed?

Obviously from the title I'm on tinder. I have about 60 matches. I noticed that maybe 1 out of 60 ( in my case) will MAYBE message me (Usually asking if I'd be interested in "Sucking his dick "... no, no I would not... anyways we will usually match right away and no guy will EVER message, what the point of swiping right and instant match if you're not gonna message?

also I've noticed if I'm like fuck it I'll message first I'm super into him hescute. I usually get unmatched right away. Ummmmm sorry when is it a bad thing to make the first move? Usually I would think a guy would be like wow a Chick making a move awesome!!! But I would usually get unmatched right away.

If it was because I am "Unattractive " then WHY swipe right? I mean I understand if you unmatched cause we're actually crazy far apart from each other. (I've literally had guys like 100 miles away and I'm like wtf how'd you find me?) lol

First, I use Tinder because I want to hookup. But it isn't an expectation. It is a goal though.

Second, As a guy I am tired of the chase. Im just tired of having to message chics all the time. If they like me they should message me. I think you are good to do that. That gives you a huge advantage over other chics.

Third, if we are attracted to you or interested in dating you we will make that clear. We will respond by treating you different and wanting to get to know the real you. If it is just flirting then probably we just want sex. That isn't bad though-if someone wants to have sex with you it means you are sexually attractive.

Fourth, if a guy swipes right it at the very least means he is willing to have sex with you based on your picture. You may not be his favorite or his choice-but would sleep with you. YOu are the one in control of that.

Fifth, if we really do like you we DO NOT forget you. We probably stalk your profile and your pics... but are too afraid or insecure to message. Guys will shit on me for saying that-but fuck them-the point is guys are human and have insecurities too. Just like chics, we message the average looking folks more so than the model chics because we don't think we have a chance.

Lastly, the way you can tell a guy really likes you is to message him and talk to him extensively... for like weeks or months before meeting him. Then you know he's seriously looking for you as the real deal.

Unfortunately as many other people have commented... Tinder is essentially a hookup app; with most guys swiping right on nearly everybody hoping for an easy bit of ass. Try not to take offense to the fact that quite a few of your matches are just guys swiping right, they probably didn't even look at your other pictures or read your bio. Once they match you, they probably look at those things and then make a more informed decision if they want to message you. Again, that doesn't mean that you're not attractive or interesting, it just means that you're not showing that you're interested in hooking up, so guys who are just in it for sex will just consider you as too much of a challenge. Sidenote: putting "not looking for hookups" does not deter guys.

If I were you, whenever you message a guy, don't say "hey" Or anything along those lines. be memorable! I always open my matches with a random fact like "Did you know that the English priest who composed the hymn 'Amazing Grace' was also a slave trader who tortured hundreds of Africans?" That makes me memorable and starts a good conversation, and minimises the risk of guys not replying.

If guys do ignore your first message for a few hours or even days; be patient. if, after a couple of days they still haven't messaged you, just move on.

Bear in mind though that I've been matching with girls, not guys.

Most guys stop looking after a while, they realized that they're not going to hit their cap for the day and just swipe right period. And guy who are 100miles away, they probably have a higher distance cap and so they saw you, and they swiped right on you which is why you see them even though they exceed your distance limit.

I tend to get messages if a guy 'super likes' me. It does mean that he put in some more effort than just mindlessly swiping right.

There are guys and girls that use tinder for validation, to know that there are people out there that find them attractive and would match with them, but not actually want to meet them.

That said, tinder has a reputation for a hookup app, a significant number of messages you get probably will be along the lines of let's hookup. A lot of people on tinder are looking for (or would be okay with) a hookup.

Honestly, if he didn't respond to your 'how are you message', I feel like sending a 'here's my # if you wanna talk' feels a bit desperate. For me, if he doesn't respond to the how are you, I would just let it go. If he's interested in me, it's not that difficult to respond 'ok, and you?' or something like that.

Guys seem to just swipe everyone right in hopes of getting a match that they actually think is hot. I choose my right swipes very carefully and when it's a match, I get super excited. Just to notice that they've unmatched me because they actually didn't like me or didn't find me attractive or whatever.

Sometimes they get so many matches that they won't unmatch me right away. I get false hope of them actually liking me and send the first message cause they seem worth the risk of rejection. And then they notice me and immediately unmatch me, sometimes accompanied with an "Eww" or something just as mature.

Obviously this isn't what all guys do, just some of them. However, this has made me not want to ever make the first move on a dating app.

Guys ALWAYS swap right! They don't even look. Now if a guy is good looking then imagine how many matches will he get per day if he swapped right on EVERY girl? It's impossible to send a message to every single one of them, so they do nothing and wait for them message them first. And THEN they take a look at her profile and decide if they like her on not. You must understand that MOST males use Tinder to search for hookups (casual sex) TODAY, or just as a means of "browsing" for attractive women even though they lack the confidence or the motivation to even pursue or talk to their matches.

A decent amount of girls higher their standards while swiping on tinder while a lot of guys lower theirs to make them feel like "big shots" and get a bunch of matches.

So whats going on here is you didn't pass their second look check. At a glance you looked attractive to them but when they looked again they didn't find you as attractive or attractive at all. Most these guys are fuck boys.

How to fix this.

1. Lower your standards to what you'd actually date or be in a relationship in real life. Stop inflating your ego and be genuine.
2. READ THEIR BIO. nothing there = fuck boy. Generic quote = fuck boy. Anything to do with drinking or a good time = fuck boy.
3. Try and make the first move, some of the shyer guys will appreciate it.
4. Stop using tinder if you hate the idea of shallow people just looking to get laid. Yes there are some good guys on there but you already swiped left on them because they're average.

A guy has to swipe hundreds of times before he even gets a match. Then has to send tens of messages before he gets a reply. It is completely inefficient for a man to sit and look through every profile and decide if he likes them or not knowing out of 100 likes he might only get 1 mutual like. So, men tend to just quickly swipe everyone right without even looking at their picture.

In the online dating world women just sit back, relax, and get flooded with messages. Men have to send hundreds of messages and be creative with every single one of them. They have to stand out among the hoards of other men pursuing the same woman. The woman doesn't have to say anything more than hello. No creativity required.

try no to take it personally when that happens. Some people only check their tinder every few days so responses can be few and far between. Also some guys will talk for a few days and then disappear, it's just what happens with apps like that and sadly most don't realize that they are interacting with actual people who have real feelings. I was on tinder not too long ago and ended up going on a couple of actual dates with some really nice guys and am currently dating one guy from it. I also met some serious ass hats though so just remember to take all of it with a grain of salt because you can definitely encounter the worst of what the dating pool offers with only a few gems. You might even want to try some other sites like bumble, hinge, or coffee meets bagel. These are all designed for women to have a better experience with dating apps. Hope that helps 😊

So I'm not sure I understand Tinder. It unfortunately wasn't around before I got married lol. I hear so much about it from single people at work that it makes me sort of envious that it's that easy to meet people. Then again though most of them were girls. So is it just a dating app or a hookup app? I remember when I was single all the hookup sites had like a 300:1 sausage ratio so it was impossible to actually meet someone unless you were gay. The best chances of hooking up were to go on sites like eharmony (don't know if that still exists) where girls were looking for relationship. I'd get multiple responses and one time had five dates in a single week and actually canceled one just so I could stay in and play video games. I met my wife on Plenty of Fish. Anyway I thought about making a Tinder profile just to see how it works and how many women would be interested in me if I was single. I'd never actually talk to them. But I backed out when it said I had to link it to my Facebook.

1) What drives me more crazy is women won't message first no matter what. I will match up with women and just leave it there to see if she is interested enough to message me first. If she does, I will then talk with her. The same fucking thing happens online on other sites. If I message women first, I can have a date in a few days. I left my profile out there for the last year and 3 months without sending out even 1 message. I decided if the woman messaged me I would pursue if I was interested. I got 2 messages in a year. If you aren't looking for a hook up tinder (and online dating in general) is a waste of time. I know there are couples out there who met through to internet, but they are few and far between. Im a guy and i used it for a while but i uninstalled it because its a waste of energy. So let me just start by saying tinder is a numbers game. According to the data women swipe right around 10% of the time compared to men over half the time.

But anyway my experience back when I used tinder was something like this.
First 2 weeks only swipe right sparingly. The result was the very rare match with no response and usually unmatched.
Third week less sparingly on swiping right. The few conversations i did have were unmatched the next day.
Couple more weeks of that i just started swiping right without even looking at the phone for several minutes same results as before with women just abruptly ending the conversation.

I don't get that either. I've never used Tinder but I was on POF for a while. Guys would often 'like' me or show interest, but as soon as I message them I get unliked or even told that they aren't interested.

I even had one guy favourite me. But then when I messaged him, he then told me he wasn't interested. All I did was say hello and ask about a trip he had gone on (posted about it on his profile).

Sometimes I feel like we'll never know people's logic behind their actions. But since you are on Tinder, I say just move on. If a guy isn't going to respond or is acting uninterested, let him go.

I swipe right on every girl. I don't even look at the screen! Just constantly wacking the heart button until I run out of likes, then I do it again in 12 hours after the likes are replenished.

Why do I do that? Because whatever she looks like, and what she says on her profile, doesn't mean jack shit unless she matches with me (with is a less than 5% odds).

And there are a few reasons

1. If the picture he first saw when he swiped right looks nothing like your other photos. Then he probably won't bother

2. Some guys swipe right on every girl just to get matches but doesn't mean they actually like you (I don't do that but a buddy of mine does)

3. I typically have to message first. And I FUCKEN HATE boring people. So if I message her, it is going to be a creative or funny message about something in one of her pictures or in her bio. Guys swipe right to all girls then unmatch later. The reason for this is guys get less matches then girls (women are super selective). So if they dont cast a wide net they will not get any matches.

Girls do the same, Tinder is just really ineffective. It's a number game for some, but mostly just adds and people spamming their instagram for follows. Most of the guys swipe right on everything and filter out people once they match, 'no use paying attention to people you will never speak' and such.

I tried it for a while and I'm still single, while I think I look quite attractive and I'm quite successful, so it's pretty much just the system that sucks.

Try comparing it to talking with random people in a chat app, like this one for example. You will notice that the conversation flows a lot more naturally and carries on a lot longer than they would on Tinder; without even knowing what you look like.

I don't know if this is what most guys do, but I only swipe right when I know I'll get a match (there are a few ways to pretty much guarantee this). By having a higher positive ratio, Tinder puts you higher on the list of profiles because the program assumes you are more desireable, and being earlier on the list means you get more matches. What this means is, I will often match with people I have no intention of messaging, simply because getting their match increases my "score."

I have never used tinder. It's crap and I still believe in old school system of approach and conflict. But, I guess guys don't expect to get any replies to their swipes anyway, so they just don't bother to check out if someone has matched up with them or not.

The same thing happens with me too. I get likes from girls but they never talk, forget about initiating conversation. I try to talk but they never reply. Very rarely it happens that I get a reply that's why I uninstalled tinder.
Being a girl, these things are not supposed to happen with you. Maybe I could tell something by seeing your face.

well I had tinder and I had maybe 10 matches total usually they are bots asking for my credit card information or they just never responded so tinder did absolutely nothing for me I usually only swipe right on girls that I find really cute or interesting like if their bio's are relatable

Swipe right to get the matches then pick out from the potential matches for hook ups.

Why do this? Easy, if you select then you get maybe 1-2 matches who won't reply. Better get everyone who might be interested in you are work from there.

Girls and guys are the same. We both want to find that one person that stays with us and we can stop looking. But we have different methods of searching, guys will try any woman who says hello and girls want to sample as few guys as possible so you need to offer a lot more than hello. To find a match on Tinder who answers back you need to think like they think, put what they want to see in your profile, not just in your opening hello

I can't speak for all guys. But ones that aren't say 8, 9 or 10 out of 10 (in that more middle to above range) don't get loads of matches. Girls are a lot more picky (which they have every right to be). I know a few friends who will just spam swipe right literally to see if any girls is interested... if she is he will then check her pictures and go from there. The guys that are 100 miles away... well i'd bet they were also the ones spamming right.

It is the way its programmed. they will allow messages that will disgust you, to keep you searching and paying for their services. I am almost that there are nice guys messaging you but tinder aren't letting those messages reach you.

I did tinder for quite a few months and out of prob 20 guys, only 1 wasn't deceitful (sadly I didn't like him all that much). 99% of the guys on there play games, you should use sites like okcupid to find guys who want a relationship.
