I don't typically give hickeys and don't typically like receiving them. But the girl I started dating really likes them, so I gave her a few when she came to visit so she would have some "mementos", at least for a few days.
I have been against them since shortly out of high school because I've always seen them as a sign of possessiveness which is a big turn off for me.
