The men who are taken aren't necessarily the most attractive. I'd say there are in many cases the men possess qualities that make them good partners. For many women a married man who is really kind to kids is extremely attractive. How a man treats kids, pets, the elderly, the cashier at the grocery store can be a barometer if he's going to be a good guy.
And the thing about attractiveness is that for some it fades with age. Not everyone ages at the same pace genetically, depends on diet too or having a stress free life or dealing with stress well. Aging becomes an equalizer when it comes to physical beauty. The so called ugly duckling person in their 20s might stand out in their 40s or 50s because they are aging better than the attractive people.
Now in my age group the numbers do start to get dicey. With 50 to 60% of the men married and then men start dying. The numbers progressively get worse after 60 with the ratio being 1 man for every 4 women. That is why women who are older many times have to widen the age range they'd find acceptable to date within. That it is why it is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and eat right and maintain a healthy weight to have more options in the dating pool. Well that's true at any age.
All single men i've met lately have been so insecure that's it's literally pathetic. At least 2 of them were actually attractive physically but their personality ruined things. They almost appeared scared of women and scared of intimacy. The one I dated most recently ghosted me when things were starting to get more intimiate, he is now back to gaming with his guy friends everyday instead... That's pretty much the men on the market right now... Those and the party guys who don't want to settle because they want to get wasted every weekend and hookup whenever they want to. I'm just staying single for now, I have nothing against that. I believe that once you stop looking the chance is bigger you'll meet a good partner anyways. The best love happens unexpectedly.

It's obvious why, what with how things are in society these days. It's not so much about you or you being the problem. It's about how anything they do with a girl can come back and bite them in the ass 40 years later
Dumbass guys doing dumb ass things in a different society at a different time... Are now getting judged by today's standards and on she said, he said arguments... Spread across the globe via the internet and the guy is found guilty before any real trial actually occurs beyond trial by mob.
Sure many were creeps and did despicable things, but not all. Some had it coming and others are just getting manipulated and losing their jobs because there was an "Unwanted Advance."
Regardless of who's guilty and who's not, it sends a message to all guys, but perhaps not the one some were expecting.
It makes you wonder if it's really all worth the hassle in the first place.
To some, that would be a No. It's better just to leave it all well enough alone, play video games with your friends, screw the family or dating drama, do what you want until you die.
I'm sure it's just a phase like spinners or New Kids on the Block. In 10 years, things will go back to normal... ish.

But you are wise for your age. Yes, a good relationship appears when you're not looking. I know from experience. First two serious ones I sought out and were pretty bad endings. Got a wife and kid now and wasn't looking and neither was she.

Well yeah, what does anyone expect. It's parenting that's ruining men. They are raised ti be the way they are, and often Christianity is to blame for producing guys that fear intimacy and playboys are sculpted by their families from birth by playboy parents.
Fact is, the family of the super insecure guy is probably worse than he is to have raised him that way.
@rovertcw I know a lot of Christian men who can get a girlfriend to materialize in front of them at the flick of a wrist anytime they want. I don’t think Christianity is the problem.
I think the problem actually is how society demonizes masculine traits like confidence, competitiveness, protectiveness and so on and focuses on those few men who abuse those traits and paints all men the monsters.
Many parents are falling for this crap and it doesn’t help that the number of single mothers are on the rise and they are already at a pretty huge fraction of the families today because of this fear mongering.
The problem is that more mothers are starting to realize that they can be as much of an asshole as they want to their husbands and children knowing they can’t be hit back otherwise she can claim the family member to be the monster and everyone will believe her.
This is exactly why so many men are scared of women. They know that women can just abuse the shit out of them and will get no punishment from law enforcement because it is almost guaranteed that he will be arrested instead. Relationships seem like a lose-lose for men these days.
In summary, I blame the brainwashed parents who punish and even beat so viciously to the point where they are scared to act like a man in front of them and just creating more white knights that no girl would ever want to date. Men these days are growing up thinking that they are no more than slaves to women who choose to make them that way.
@Snakeyes7 Interesting theories all over but I agree about christianity at least - barely anyone is religious these days, i've sure never met anyone who's come from a christian or otherwise religious family at least, so that's hardly the issue. Some people are simply born more insecure for different reasons I think. I've been insecure a lot and have battled social anxiety among other things. However for men such things are considered "not okay" and this guy for sure had some form of social anxiety as he was always nervous around other people much more than I am. His mother seemed like the tough love-type as well which CAN be good but often do more harm. Men need understanding and support as much as women do, if I hadn't gotten that I would probably have been as scared as him now to do anything else than to sit inside and play games.

This could lead them to luterslly fear young women because to his mind, women are just emotionally abusive in general and that's scary. This could be the fear that some guys display rather than insecurity in its own right.
Ok good, I thought you were going to say the opposite and that they absolutely hate women and would beat them when they could. This is a very common misconception.
I was like that and I am mostly over it now but for my very first major relationship, I have been treating her like an angry deity for almost half of the time. I was absolutely terrified of the idea of pissing her off.
@Snakeyes7 That sucks some guys feel that way. I've been treated badly by women myself for several years in school other girls bullied me and only girls. It's taken me until now to not feel badly for other women even though it was a long time ago. Women in general can be pretty catty and have no patience for men who aren't very confident, although far from all women are that way they might be easier to come across as the more shy women keep to themselves, usually. I met a guy recently who said he liked me a lot because i'm not harsh and judgmental like other women he's met... Definietely sucks that it is that way, it goes out over both the men who's had negative experiences who may push away actual good women in fear and the women they unknowingly hurt because they're insecure.
Absolutely. After the one girl I have been kind of overreacting about for like half the time I was in the relationship with her broke up with me (she was very ambiguous as to why but a lot of signs were pointing to her cheating on me and felt guilty about it), I realized that she wasn’t the only one who wasn’t out to get me, as I believed under my paranoid state.
Sure I have definitely met some girls that have nothing better to do than twist my words to find hidden meanings that were never there to begin with, but I learned how to deal with them over time.
I would be lying if I said that I am not pushing actual good women away. Probably not due to insecurity anymore but I think it has a lot more to do with just not seeing a relationship as a win-win situation for me. Unfortunately, the women have been sold a bill of goods from the get-go. From the time they could understand speech they've been told how special they are, how pretty, and how much more deserving than, more important than, and more entitled than any boy. The boys have been told the same thing - that they are to defer to the girls.
So they start out with this entitled mentality that somehow they are deserved of a great guy, a terrific love life, a career, all the things that normal people have to WORK at and put effort forth to attain. But these girls? Nope, they 'DESERVE' to be happy, successful, whatever.
And the FI tells them they have free choice and that they 'should never settle'. I'm not saying they should, but they have this completely unrealistic expectation of what a man is, what they're for, what their place is, how it all works. So we have a LOT of very disappointed couples and imploding relationships. If they even get that far.
And the golden-vagina - they're just sure they can real in any guy they choose but giving him sex. Which she usually can, just invite them - but that doesn't mean he'll commit to her.

The prospects for a catch diminish to near nill by now - all of the really good guys have been snapped up and married, or they're a perennial fukboy and will NEVER settle down. All that's left are the rejects, the nerds, and the divorcees with kids in tow.
This is why I tell young women to find a really great guy and establish a meaningful relationship, that the sex will come, and if they choose well then worshiping him and doting on him is not a chore, rather something desirable. This is the ONLY way an LTR can last.
In other words, don't squander your youth and beauty.

But in all seriousness, being capable and willing to be vulnerable with someone is the single most attractive thing if your able to connect with who they are as a person... which will not always be the case. Nothing can compare to the disappointment of meeting yet another fleshy clone with no baggage or imperfections.
HIMYM says it best.. you gotta find someone that you enjoy down to their most undesirable quirks. Don't settle for tolerating someone. That's an easy mistake to make these days

The girl in the pic is attractive and not average. Hoping prettier girls notice how nice or smart a guy who puts no effort into looks is makes guys underestimate his number options. So what you’re saying does both ways. Some of the happiest couples I’ve seen are two less attractive, nerdier, etc couples though.
Stay single until they find the person that’s attractive to them or they have a lot of shared common interests with and think is ok looking. Some also want to search for men that they think or feel are on their level with certain things. Honestly, a lot of girls aren’t picky even if it seems that way.
They also get sick of waiting or doing nothing and go put themselves out there to find the attractive one...
They'll start asking "are there any good men left?" And "where are all the good men hiding?".
Frankly i don't see that being asked, so most women must be happy about their choices in men.
I believe to balance things out we need more women than men.
For marriage? For one date? For friendship? It depends on your intentions, and your ability to attract. Over time people tend to lower expectations as experience can prove that expectations are far to high. I could have kept dating and left each girl for the next due to attractiveness. It would have been a mistake.
