I turn 26 in a few months and never had a girlfriend. I have only had sex once in my life. She was 16; I was 20. Both virgins. She never wanted a relationship with me. I drove 7 hours to her state to meet her too, so no previois connections.

The problem is that when you think of having a girlfriend, you're visualizing one of those girls who is sweet and kind and who loves you for who you are and the sad fact is, 95% of guys have never and will never have a girlfriend like that, because they're as rare as unicorns. It seems like a great thing when you're single and visualizing how perfect everything would be, but real life has a way of sucking more than you can possibly imagine.
