Me and this guy have been talking for 2 weeks. After 1 week, I was just being nice and called him hun. He said “Aw you called me hun” then the next morning I woke up to a text saying “I hope you slept well babe” then for almost a week we were calling eachother babe. Now he hasn’t called me babe or hun. Should I be worried that I don’t have his attention anymore and it’s going elsewhere? We still text every day he still initially starts the conversation every day. And we are still planning on our first date after he recovers from his surgery (he was in a bad car accident). He wants to wait until he gets his first paycheck after returning to work to be able to pay everything during the date. He wants to be a gentleman. We barely ever talk about sex. We actually used to be best friends in high school, our first job was at the same place. We used to buy eachother Christmas gifts etc. Haven’t talked in years now we are friends again but working On a potential relationship.

I would not be worried. As long as you guys are still working towards the end goal (a date) the fact that he doesn't call you babe isn't a big deal. I would just reiterate that you are super excited for your date and can't wait to finally get to see him. Reaffirming how you feel is always a good thing when in a long distance relationship (which a lot are atm with everything going on) for any amount of time. Even when I am away for just a few weeks, I will message my b. f. and tell him how much I miss him and tell him what I want to do when we finally are together again. It helps keep us feeling close despite the distance.

I'm not one for using pet names. They don't come naturally for me at all. I think maybe he's the same and he couldn't get into the habit. He probably wanted to call you something back because it's endearing and you used one first but he can't make it stick. It's really not a big deal. Everything else sounds really promising!
