Have you ever judged your date for their credit card?

I've been out with this guy a few times and for the first dates he insisted on paying, but last night I said I thought it was about time we split it. Now, he's got a great job, and as such has one of those top-of-the-range credit cards that offers amazing travel benefits and such. While I really like what I do, I don't make anywhere near as much as he does, and though I have good credit, I still have just the one Discover card I've had since college. This is what I put my share of the tab on last night... So I'm curious: Have you ever judged your date based on the credit card they use? I just don't want this guy making false assumptions about my financial situation or my ambition...

Nope, I wouldn’t notice. I did have some black lady who was a cashier at the grocery store say you can’t buy beer with that before… I was like what the hell are you talking about? I was like it’s a discover card I think I’ll be fine… I bought my bear and left. It turns out food stamps benefits cards also have an American flag on them. So I guess gold digging women are always looking at men’s money and making assumptions. I have immaculate credit and the limit on that particular card was something like $20K but she thought I was on food stamps. lol One more reason to use Discover, it helps keep the gold diggers away.

It would be pretty ignorant if they did, because there’s great banks and credit cards that look kinda goofy out there too, and I bet no one wants to steal it, but as long as the card doesn’t come back declined who cares, your on the date to get to know him and not the color or design of his credit card lol. Now I wanna make a little hand written sign that says ultra super platinum and tear it off and tape it to my credit card for my next date and see how they take it lol

I don't look at what he is paying with I look at his kind action of being willing to buy me something to eat. I don't date men who spilt bills on dates I am more old fashioned so can't relate.

I've never really been in a situation that like he wants too don't waste you're money going out I've been on a few dates where I just spend hnudreds of $ an tell her don't trip about it you may feel bad about it an may want to split but to me a lot of times as a guy it makes us feel appreciated if that makes sense

No. Never, and I have one those fancy cards you speak of. Now, you might have gained more favor with him had you insisted on picking up the tab versus splitting after those first few dates. It would have definitely been a better signal... unless that isn’t what you were intending to send.

Men like you want it easy... want to be treated like the female. I personally would be very unattracted to a man who believe his date should pay... shows me he wants to take the woman role in a relationship and is not a provider

Wanting to be treated like “female” has zero to do with it. Interesting that was your take away. Nor did I remotely suggest “she should pay”. My ex liked picking up the tab here and there with the mind set we were a “team” working “together”. I wasn’t going to take that from her as it would have had a negative impact with her. She was the first to ever want to. Till her, I always paid. I didn’t feel emasculated nor effeminate because my girlfriend ‘wanted’ to pay here and there. It made her fee good and wasn’t going to ruin that for her as her happiness was significantly more important to me than any outsider’s impression of our relationship.

You don’t need to apologize to me. If anything it was my ex you were slamming which I take exception too. Regardless whether you feel the world should be one way, she did not feel as you and ‘I’ cared enough about her to not interfere with her desire to be ‘her’. I have plenty enough testosterone not to feel somehow diminished by her desire to be herself. It is because of my level testosterone and in knowing me as she does, that she made it a point to pacify my temperament whenever others would make slights towards her as she knows it is not in my nature to, “just let it go.” I’ll forever be defensive if this One.

No I my opinion no credit card is the best option, don't waste your money feeding the bank if you can avoid it. I don't care about my dates economy as long its positive. Ie she manage her economy well enough.

I've never done that, any credit card ad I see I pretty much ignore so I wouldn't even know what that kind of credit card looks like!!!

Credit cards mean you borrow. It is not attractive. Keep a debit card instead. You spend what you earn not the other way round
