Why is he acting this way?

I met this guy Kaden through my brother one night when we had a get together. I was extremely attracted to him and the whole night we ended up flirting. He ended up leaving later on that night and before he left he said goodbye and then turned around and said, "by the way, you're absolutely gorgeous," and then walked away.

I just had a serious relationship end back in June and I wasn't really looking to start dating anyone. I drunkenly (and stupidly) messaged him after he left and told him he should have stayed and that I wanted to hookup. He replied and said, "you're my good friend's sister and we just met. Let's take things slow. I'm old school like that." I then told him that I wasn't really looking for anything serious.

I saw him again at and event and again, he was flirty with me all night, but when I went in for a kiss, he completely rejected me.

One early evening, he messaged me on Facebook and asked to hangout and kept telling me how gorgeous he thought I was. I was at work and said we could hangout over the weekend. He told me this weekend he wanted to hookup, so I got excited (it's been a while LOL).

He showed up to a friend's birthday party that weekend and as soon as he saw me, he apologized for the messages and said he was drunk and that it was wrong of him to say those things, and that it basically wasn't going to happen that night.

Again, that night he was being really flirty but kept denying my advances. When I asked him why he was giving me mixed signals all the time, he said, "let me take you out on a date," and I replied and said, "then ask me on date," to which he responded, "no, it needs to be when you're not expecting it."

This guy flirts with me ALL THE TIME, tells me how gorgeous I am constantly, but can also act so cold towards me. He can actually be kind of mean sometimes. He looks at me sometimes and I wonder if he's trying to seduce me, or he wants to kill me LOL. When I call him out for being mean, he apologizes and then hugs me.

I also sent him a friend request the other day and he didn't accept it. He acts so strange with me, but with anyone else, he acts normal and friendly.

Also, I know for a fact he's not dating anyone. I just don't get it at all.

Drop him. He is not old school he has too much baggage and is a mess in his head. Goes left then goes right then left and then right. He needs to grow up.

Well, we aren't even dating, so there's no dropping lol. I'm just going to live my life and not pursue him as much. He starts pursuing me more then great!
