So I admitted to my friend that I’ve been liking her for 4 months. Did I make a good call?

I told her I like her over text then she called me, she asked what’s there to like about me and honestly there’s a lot about her I could say... thing is I’ve never dated a girl tho I’m bi and she said she isn’t turning me down but not saying yes. She’s a great person and I feel like I’ve made a fool of myself.

There’s two reasons for this
1) because anytime I’ve liked a girl they didn’t reciprocate
2) my feelings weren’t strong enough

now I’m a little worried

If she doesn’t like me I’m not gonna trip on it, it’s just gonna ruin my confidence a little. Like I said however I’ve never dated a girl.

I think it is already a very strong thing to confess your love to someone, but even more so when you are saying you love someone of the same gender because you are opening yourself up to the possibility of being judged.

Her reply was not at all by the looks of it trying to push you away forever, she said that she was not turning you down but not saying yes, so doesn't that mean she is also thinking over her feelings for you before agreeing to a relationship?

If someone says that they are not saying yes but not saying no, it is kind of like saying they would like to make a reservation with you while they think things over, but then again I don't know the girl so I can't make a valid argument, it's just that such a sentence is very well linked with that.

Look, I have confessed to people in the past and do you know how many went my way? none of them, I never got a relationship. Yes, it is embarrassing, but would you not rather continue on in life knowing you tried instead of never tried? Because if you never tried then for all you know then there could be a person who would say yes and you just wouldn't ask because you are afraid of embarrassing yourself.

I get your feelings, I seriously do, but at the end of the day if you want someone in your life then you have to tell the person and I am proud of you for doing that :)


As for the 2 points,

point number one,
sometimes you fall in love with someone who doesn't swing that way or isn't into you, the only thing you can do and the best you can do is move on and find someone else, I don't mean in a matter of seconds, I mean over time, there is no point hoping they will fall in love with you when they just don't feel that way for you and as you meet people through life you may well come across a girl who you click with immediately and you tell her or she tells you and it goes well, it is just a matter of time :) If love was easy it wouldn't be worth fighting for <3

Point number two,
I don't think your feelings were not strong enough necessarily, there are just times when even if you have strong feelings for a person, they are not the right feelings, or the right thoughts, or not having enough in common etc. so I would not blame your feelings for it when you shouldn't try and force yourself to strengthen your feelings for someone, they should come naturally if they are the right one :)


It does ruin your confidence, I find it hard to consider confessing to someone, but I think if I fell in love again, I could do it and even if it didn't go well, at least I could say I tried. <3 :)
