No. I do not have such a preference. But i am reluctant to date someone from my own race because i am dark skinned and in my "culture" dark =ugly and less desirable than a fair skinned woman. Most men of my "culture" will only see my skin tone as an undesirable trait that they may just put up with.

Nope. I'm just nuts for black hair and brown eyes. I'm Italian and there are many similarities in family structure of Italian and Hispanic Families. I am just strongly attracted to Latinas. Maybe it's because I grew up in a heavily Hispanic community and went to the same churches and events. I don't know but I love the people.
Only Americans think race & skin tone is the same as culture. Man they'd be in for a rude awakening anywhere else in the world.
Race is not culture. Nor is skin tone. Japanese & Chinese are both of the "Asian" race and have the same complexion in general but they are not of the same culture. Just as how British & Germans are of the "Caucasian" race and have the same complexion in general but they are not of the same culture.
Well it’s because you are probably white. Society tells dark people like me and darker Latinas that we are less attractive than whiter hispanic people so like by dating another person that has my skin tone, it’s like a statement that we are making. It’s hard to explain this. I’m not even that dark!
My father had government officials - drivers - joke they had to empathize he was "caucasian" on his license otherwise he'd be mistaken as "black man" in 1970s Florida. With recent Italian & Spanish & southern French ancestry the only thing "white" about me kiddo is I happen to have blonde hair something racist Americans don't realize is a trait of even southern Italians thinking they're all black wannabes.
And again how does skin color associate with culture? A Cuban hispanic is not going to be the same as a Columbian hispanic and certainly not the same as a who-knows-what northern American hispanic.
Italian wasn't always considered white you know. Only once black people in the US were freed did that make them whites. Basically to make room for the new lowest man. Why do you think there were Italian and irish gangs back then? Cause they weren't considered white by the law. So they got shoved to the bottom basically how blacks and brown do now.
@TrainingDay - only in dumbass America are Italians not considered white, in Europe they're white. Shows how pathetic Americans truly are when they can't even get something so simple right.

In my personal case, I like people for themselves, I don't really mind their skin color, ethnicity or culture that much, if they have what I'm looking for. If I like the person, what's the problem?
It sounds kind of prejudiced to reject someone of another race that's compatible with me and it's a really good person because "it'll look like I'm ashamed of my own culture" smh.
I’d disagree with you. I’m open for getting with any guy whether he’s in my culture or not- I’m not ashamed of my culture, I just wouldn’t want to limit myself to people only within my ethnicity and culture.
If you date outside your culture you're a racist because you are appropriating. And if you date inside your culture, you're a racist because you aren't giving other cultures outside your own a chance.

I am ashamed of my culture, yes. But it isn't really race-related. It's American culture that I'm ashamed of. For that, white people and black people are both equally to blame. (Maybe some of the others are as well, but those two are the main culprits.)
Haha, I agree... although I'm not a born American, I have been here long enough to consider myself so. And you're right, we blacks and whites are to blame for the shame that goes on in this country. I think it's more so , we don't realize just how great we have it with our liberties. Being born in Central America (mom. is belezian) was rough. I grew up in Ireland (dads half irish) and even though Ireland isn't 3rd world, America is still a far more successful country. We are spoiled here and we complain about everything too much and we're too sensitive about things.. its like we live on the defensive side too much in America.

What do you think someone has to be ashamed to date outside of their race? I personally like black guys as I am black myself but for many reasons I prefer to date other men. The main one being I'm able to connect with guys of all ethnicites.

Could be anecdotal but I’ve just noticed a lot of black guys saying they prefer anything else. I don't know how you feel about that? I’ve always been curious but would never ask on a separate question or in person
Yep black men do prefer anything and everything that is what or close to white. That’s one of my reasonings. I didn’t want to get into it though. But I’m considered light skin and black guys like me. I choose not to date them because I don’t look at that as a good thing. If you don’t like black women, you don’t like me

A black person can easily be a patriot and culturally "white" just as much as an Asian person.
They call the term "Westernisation" but in reality, if white people were to emigrate to Asia their children and their children will "Asianise" these are normalities, but I do agree with the statement you made in regards to their culture being attacked
No, not in every case but in some yes. But race is not culture. A black American and a white American have the same culture. Let people decide what they want their love story to be. Not everyone gives a fuck about culture. I'll make my own fucking culture tyvm
Lol, White people didn’t get were we are by pandering to minorities moaning and bitching. I think you should date whoever you are attracted to get along with. If you intentionally want to avoid your own race, then you probably have a lot of issues.

I can be attracted to women of any race. It doesn't mean I'm ashamed of my own culture when I date a woman who isn't from the same race and/or coming from the same country.
I mean I don't think I could give very good analysis on this. All I can say is that I'm most attracted to white women.
