Is he still interested in me or naw?

Long story short, I've known this guy since senior year of highschool (in 2017) and we always remembered eachother-- we had a good time teasing each other and joking around. I lost contact with him for about 3 years and he ended up friending me on facebook-- we've talked for the past 2-3 years and I always had a crush on him (during this whole time since I knew him)... a few months ago I got up the nerve to just tell him I liked him-- I just wanted to see if he liked me back... it took him some time but eventually he said that he liked me too in a romantic way. He was away at school at the time I told him and said he wouldn't ask me out until he came home and saw me in person (which was very sweet) we started flirting with each other and it was great. We hung out a few Friday's ago... he did ask me out... but he did it in kind of a strange way... he told me that he "wanted me" and didn't really give context-- so I had to help him out by suggesting that he should ask me out (because he had already expressed he was into me and that he was going to ask me out to make it official). He goes away on a boat trip in a few weeks for more than a month and I won't be able to talk to him. After that he goes back to school, and I won't see him for 6 months... He said he would make time for me... but proceeds to watch tv and play video games instead... does he not like me anymore? Did I do something wrong? I understand that distance is going to be a major part in our relationship but I'm willing to try... but like am I wrong for being mad he'd rather watch tv and play video games while he is only a half hour drive from me? We haven't even been on our first "official date" yet! I feel like time is just ticking away. Am I missing something? I'm confused and can't help but feel a little hurt he'd rather just be alone instead of hanging with his girlfriend :/

Just to clarify, he hasn't gone on the boat trip yet... and also when he gone for 6 months-- we still talk but we won't be able to physically hang out. :/
